  3. Scarborough, ON - Blueview Software is pleased to announce the release
  4. of JDRAW v4.0, a RIPScrip compatible editor. With this release JDraw
  5. adds Object Editing enhancements. This is a major feature that has been
  6. incorporated in all areas of the program. It makes editing RipScrip much
  7. more easier and powerful.
  8.  
  9. With JDraw's new edit mode you are able to click on an object, drag it,
  10. size it, copy it, or delete it. You can even select a series of objects
  11. to edit. But that's not all, JDraw's Polygon-PolyLine mode is the most
  12. advanced of any program. You can insert, delete, and move any poly point.
  13. Entire poly shapes can be shrinked or expanded in just one mouse click.

  15. JDraw v4 features an advanced command lister. Each command is displayed
  16. in english with its attributes. The command lister allows you to toggle
  17. any command on or off, delete it from the list, or copy it. This often
  18. useful for editing commands that are not suited for full screen edit mode.
  19. The command lister also has the option of jumping to full screen edit mode
  20. with all the draw commands. Modifying the order in which commands are
  21. executed can also be done with the Tag and Move options.

  23. JDraw v4 also features and enhanced grid and co-ordinate system. This
  24. allows you to create objects of a desired size and location. While
  25. other programs may offer similar features JDraw incorporates them
  26. throughout the program. The grid and co-ordinate system are user
  27. configured and can be modified or toggled on or off.

  29. JDraw also supports a "Wizard" tool which allows users to create fancy
  30. borders, frames, and windows by simply specifying the co-ordinates.
  31. A number of already defined Wizard files are included to get you started.
  32. We've left the spec open to our Wizard format so users can create their
  33. own and share with others. All Wizard commands are converted to a series
  34. of RIPScrip compatible commands. We've added a new feature _without_
  35. breaking the current 1.54 RipScrip standard. This feature was initially
  36. introduced in v3 of JDraw and remains as one of the more popular aspects
  37. of JDraw.

  39. JDraw includes support for Windows 3.x Ico format. You can include Ico
  40. files directly into a RipScrip file, there is no need for external
  41. files. As with the Wizard feature the Ico files are converted into a
  42. series of RIPScrip 1.54 commands. This feature will undoubtedly save
  43. sysops a great deal of time due to the overwhelming number of available
  44. Ico files.

  46. Support for software developers has also been added. Images can be
  47. saved as Borland/Turbo C/Pascal source code. The resulting code along
  48. with the supplied JDLIB can be included directly into your own
  49. programs. This makes JDraw ideal for creating quick title screens and
  50. other types of graphics. The overhead that is added to your program is
  51. very small because RIPScrip commands are converted to their equivalent
  52. BGI counterparts.

  54. JDraw provides all the necessary features to create RIPScrip graphics
  55. without the high cost. Some of JDraw's other features include:
  56.  
  57.    ZOOM MODE: Allows you to edit any area on the screen in a zoom mode
  58.    using a number of drawing tools including pixel, line, rectangle,
  59.    circle, and ellipse.  This is _NOT_ an icon mode, everything created
  60.    in this mode will not require additional icon files.

  62.    BUTTON SELECTOR: JDraw provides full support for buttons, including
  63.    plain buttons, icon buttons, and clipboard buttons. The Button
  64.    selector allows you to create a number of custom styles with full
  65.    access to all the available button flags. The preview window allows
  66.    you to see your button before its pasted on the screen, you don't
  67.    have guess how it looks.

  69.    PCX/BMP: JDraw also allows you to save your images in standard PCX
  70.    and BMP formats. This makes JDraw ideal for creating clipart and
  71.    importing into other programs which do not support RIP directly.

  73.    JDraw is part of a much larger package which includes the following
  74.    programs:

  76.         JMedia: A different style editor allowing you to edit RipScrip
  77.                 commands in a text editor environment. JMedia also
  78.                 allows you to test your screens and link them together
  79.                 to create demos and presentations. JMedia also includes
  80.                 a number of extended commands and support for PCX, ANSI,
  81.                 and ANSI music. You can even distribute your work by
  82.                 creating a royalty free EXE file.

  84.          JView: No package is complete without a superb RIP viewer.
  85.                 Files can be easily viewed, tagged, or viewed in a
  86.                 slide show mode. JView provides a built in file
  87.                 selector making it easy to access files, no need to
  88.                 hassle with a clumsy command line interface. In
  89.                 addition to RIP files JView can also display RIP ICN
  90.                 and Windows Ico files.

  92.     MagniPaint: Our Super Icon editor, supports PCX/BMP/ICO and of
  93.                 coarse RIP ICN. MagniPaint as the name conveys is a
  94.                 magnified paint program, much more powerful than your
  95.                 standard icon editors. 16 color VGA, and 256 color
  96.                 SVGA. Can be used as a stand alone program, RIP ICN
  97.                 files is just of the formats it supports.

  99.       MegaClip: Screen clipper for cutting up PCX/BMP/RIP ICN files.
  100.                 Standard EGA/VGA and SVGA screens. As with MagniPaint,
  101.                 MegaClip can also be used as a stand alone program.
