Setup Notes for HomeWork 3.0 Professional Edition
_________________________________________________
Some 486 and Pentium machines have problems running
the setup program supplied with HomeWork Pro. These
problems stem from the fact that the Commom Dialog
Library is in use and will not unlock for the setup
program. This error is not really an error at all,
in fact it is just SHARE.EXE not allowing more than
one library "DLL" to open multiple times, and is a
protection for your library. All L-Soft Atlanta
software require SHARE.EXE file "locking" to take
place before it will load. This assures us and
you of safe file handling. If during the install
of HomeWork Pro you see the error "Common Dialog
Already in Use" do the following to install the
software.........
Exit Windows. Change to the drive where you have the
software. Type: Win Setup.Exe
This will allow the setup software to lock the library
and release Windows from the library for the install.
Once the installation is complete, the setup software
will release the library for Windows to regain control.
On some older 386 machines running a SVGA card, no video
has been reported during the installation. If this is
encountered you will need to manually install the software.
Contact L-Soft Atlanta for the manual file install kit.
There is no charge for the kit, and instructions are supplied
with each kit for you to use. This kit is available for
purchased versions of L-Soft Atlanta Software only.
Share.Exe MUST be loaded in your Autoexec.bat File BEFORE
installation can take place!
Add the following line to the file (If you have Share.EXe
already loaded re-write it to the following):
SHARE.EXE /F:500 /L:500
Use CAPITAL letters! Case IS important!
All L-Soft Atlanta software require Share to function and
will abort if not loaded. "Share Not Loaded" and "File
Locking Not Available" errors will be seen. If you encounter
these during the setup of our software, Share.Exe IS NOT in
your Autoexec.Bat file! Please Add it! Reboot your computer
to place this in memory, and re-run the setup program.
