  1. Setup Notes for HomeWork 3.0 Professional Edition

  4. Some 486 and Pentium machines have problems running
  5. the setup program supplied with HomeWork Pro. These
  6. problems stem from the fact that the Commom Dialog
  7. Library is in use and will not unlock for the setup
  8. program. This error is not really an error at all,
  9. in fact it is just SHARE.EXE not allowing more than
  10. one library "DLL" to open multiple times, and is a
  11. protection for your library. All L-Soft Atlanta
  12. software require SHARE.EXE file "locking" to take
  13. place before it will load. This assures us and
  14. you of safe file handling. If during the install
  15. of HomeWork Pro you see the error "Common Dialog
  16. Already in Use" do the following to install the
  17. software.........

  19. Exit Windows. Change to the drive where you have the
  20. software. Type: Win Setup.Exe
  21.  
  22. This will allow the setup software to lock the library
  23. and release Windows from the library for the install.
  24. Once the installation is complete, the setup software
  25. will release the library for Windows to regain control.
  26.  
  27. On some older 386 machines running a SVGA card, no video
  28. has been reported during the installation. If this is
  29. encountered you will need to manually install the software.
  30. Contact L-Soft Atlanta for the manual file install kit.
  31. There is no charge for the kit, and instructions are supplied
  32. with each kit for you to use. This kit is available for
  33. purchased versions of L-Soft Atlanta Software only.

  35. Share.Exe MUST be loaded in your Autoexec.bat File BEFORE
  36. installation can take place!
  37. Add the following line to the file (If you have Share.EXe
  38. already loaded re-write it to the following):

  40.                 SHARE.EXE /F:500 /L:500
  41.  
  42.          Use CAPITAL letters! Case IS important!
  43.  
  44. All L-Soft Atlanta software require Share to function and
  45. will abort if not loaded. "Share Not Loaded" and "File
  46. Locking Not Available" errors will be seen. If you encounter
  47. these during the setup of our software, Share.Exe IS NOT in
  48. your Autoexec.Bat file! Please Add it! Reboot your computer
  49. to place this in memory, and re-run the setup program.
