  1. ExtraDOS Toolbox Professional■ is a compilation of powerful and
  2. sophisticated tools for MS-DOS users. The programs offer
  3. functionality; some enhance programs already found in MS-DOS, other
  4. tools were familiar to the Unix world and are now available in MS-DOS.
  5. ExtraDOS also compliments PC Tools and Norton utilities by offering
  6. many features not found in these packages. The quality of our tools

  17. ADDCOMM    allows you to define the actual address of your
  18.            communications ports in the DOS lower memory segment
  19.            allowing older machines to support COM3 and COM4.
  20.  
  21. ALARMCLK   provides a simple alarm clock for MS-DOS machines.
  22.  
  23. ALLSUB     Allows any command or program to be run on the current
  24.            directory as well as all on subdirectories of the current
  25.            directory. This is useful for deleting groups of files or
  26.            performing tasks with programs that don't normally allow
  27.            for subdirectories.

  29. AREACODE   AREACODE is a utility that will help you locate the region
  30.            to which an area code applies or to locate the area code
  31.            for a specific region.

  33. BANNER     Create a large banner using a standard ASCII printer.
  34.  
  35. BOOT       Reboot PC from within a batch file or from the DOS command
  36.            line.

  38. BOOTCTL    Boot system on hard drive even with a non system floppy
  39.            disk in the A: drive.

  41. BOOTLOCK   Locks out the [CTRL]C, [CTRL][BREAK] and [CTRL][ALT][DEL]
  42.            keystroke functions.  Disable one or any combination of
  43.            these functions.

  45. BRKBOX     Software version of a breakout box. Displays the status of
  46.            the Serial or Parallel ports on the screen.  This is a very
  47.            handy tool when trying to debug communications or printing
  48.            problems.

  50. CALENDAR   Display monthly or yearly calendar

  52. CAT        Unix like CAT utility for displaying, printing, and
  53.            combining files.

  55. CHIMES     Quarterly hour clock chimes.  Westminster, Saint Michael,
  56.            or Whittington chimes.
  57.  
  58. CLEANFL    Makes the task of cleaning floppy drive heads much easier
  59.            and more thorough. Moves the head of the floppy drive to
  60.            travel the entire span of the cleaning floppy rather than
  61.            just using a small portion of the cleaning diskette.

  64. CLEANUP    Cleanup allows you to recover valuable space that is eaten
  65.            up by unused or duplicate files on your hard and floppy
  66.            drives. Quickly isolates unused and duplicate files and
  67.            removes them.

  69. COUNT      Counts the number of characters, words and lines in a file.
  70.  
  71. CURLOCK    CURLOCK locks the cursor shape (optionally set with CURSOR)
  72.            so that no matter what software you use the cursor will not
  73.            be changed.

  75. CURSOR     Let's you change the size and shape of the DOS cursor.

  77. CUT        Unix like utility for displaying and printing text files in
  78.            different formats by eliminating columns and other
  79.            formatting options.

  81. CUTPASTE   Small clipboard utility for MS-DOS.  CUTPASTE allows you to
  82.            pop up over any DOS application and copy a portion of the
  83.            information displayed on the screen and paste it into
  84.            another application, to the printer or to a file.

  86. DELAY      Sets a user defined delay in batch files or CONFIG.SYS.
  87.  
  88. DETAB      Strips any tab characters from an ASCII text file and
  89.            converts them into spaces. This is especially useful when
  90.            working with old formatted files that you would like to
  91.            work with in an editor which treats fixed tabs differently.

  93. DISKINFO   Reads the boot sector of a disk and then makes a DOS call
  94.            to find out the information that DOS has for that disk. It
  95.            will then list out the information in a side by side format
  96.            so that you may compare the reports from DOS and the boot
  97.            record.

  99. EDIT       SuperEdit full screen editor many features including
  100.            multiple windows, text formatting options and pull down
  101.            menus.
  102.  
  103. EVAL       DOS command line calculator that evaluates mathematical
  104.            expressions input on the command line.

  106. FILEATTR   Allows you to set or change the attributes of a group of
  107.            files.
  108.  
  109. FILEINFO   Alleviates the problem that DOS has created by only
  110.            allowing 8 characters to describe a file. FILEINFO provides
  111.            a way of adding comments to files in any directory.

  113. FILESIZE   Displays a list of files and their respective sizes with
  114.            summary that gives total sizes, number of files, totals
  115.            space on disk and space available both in bytes and
  116.            percentage.
  117.  
  118. FILETREE   Scans the directory structure of a disk and gives a top
  119.            down tree listing of the entire disk's directory structure.
  120.  
  121. FINDFILE   Will locate files by searching the entire disk for a
  122.            specified file. Also searches within compressed files to
  123.            searchfor filenames. When it finds a matching file it will
  124.            display the directory the file was found in, the complete
  125.            file name, the file size, creation date and time, and any
  126.            attributes associated with the file.

  128. HELP       HELP prints out help messages on some of the more useful
  129.            and popular DOS commands.
  130.  
  131. HEXDUMP    Provides you a quick dump of the contents of any file.  The
  132.            advantage of HEXDUMP is that you can quickly dump the
  133.            contents of any file to the screen without having to load
  134.            the overhead of a shell program.
  135.  
  136. HUSH       A utility that can eliminate a majority of the sounds
  137.            generated by the PC's internal speaker.
  138.  
  139. KILLDIR    Makes eliminating a directory and all of it's contents a
  140.            lot easier. It displays information about the directory
  141.            that includes the number of files and their sizes as well
  142.            as any subdirectory information.
  143.  
  144. LASER      Helps you set your laser printer's mode and also makes it
  145.            easy for you to send control codes to it.
  146.  
  147. LS         Unix like file listing utility.  It has many advanced
  148.            features beyond that of the DIR command found in DOS.
  149.  
  150. MONITOR    MONITOR displays an adjustment pattern for your monitor.
  151.            It is useful when trying to align and adjust monitors.
  152.            Support HERCULES through VGA cards MOVE      Moves any file
  153.            from one place to another.
  154.  
  155. MOVE       Move files to different locations on the hard disk without
  156.            having to copy and delete manually.  Supports multiple hard
  157.            drives including network drives.
  158.  
  159. NAMEDIR    Renames directories without emptying or modifying their it's
  160.            contents.
  161.  
  162. NO         File exlusion utility.  Let's you run a command on all files
  163.            except specified groups.
  164.  
  165. PATHFIND   Allows you to search the file path for any files.  Will
  166.            display the files that it finds in order of appearance
  167.            within the path. This is handy when you are trying to
  168.            locate a similar program or file that could exist in
  169.            multiple places in your path statement.

  171. PSPRINT    Allows you to print DOS ASCII Text files on a PostScript
  172.            device without the usual conversion.

  174. SCRNATTR   Sets the foreground, background and border colors at the DOS
  175.            prompt.
  176.  
  177. SPEEDRAM   Increases the speed of your system CPU by changing the
  178.            refresh rate of your system's 8253 timer chip. SpeedRam
  179.            should increase your CPU's performance from 2% to 10%.

  181. TEXTSRCH   Searches for all occurrences of a given string inside of a
  182.            specified text file.
  183.  
  184. TIDY       Scans drives for any .BAK and 0 length files and deletes
  185.            them automatically.

  187. TOUCH      A unix like utility used to stamp a file's attributes with
  188.            the current system date and time.

  192. TURBOBAT  Compiles batch files into .COM binary programs.  This will
  193.           greatly increase the speed of large batch files by allowing
  194.           them to run in machine code rather than interpreted DOS
  195.           commands.

  197. TURBOTXT  Compiles text files into .COM programs.  Allows you to create
  198.           self viewing readme programs.

  200. USEMEM    Program allows you to use up memory for testing programs and
  201.           applications with a minimal memory setting.

  203. USEMOUSE  Gives any DOS application the ability to use the mouse.

  205. VIDMODE   Set the current video mode from the DOS prompt.  Allows
  206.           switching to any of the supported text modes.

  208. VOLLABEL  Allows you to view and modify the volume label on any disk.
