INSTALLING DIALM
================
In the following discussion, "[CR]" means press the Enter or Return Key.
*********************************
IF YOU HAVE A ZIP FILE FROM A BBS
*********************************
First create a subdirectory to hold DIALM's files. I suggest "DIALM" as
the subdirectory name, but you can use any valid directory name.
The following 2 commands will create a subdirectory called DIALM off
the root directory:
CD \[CR]
MD DIALM[CR]
Use PKUNZIP extract the files from the ZIP file into the DIALM
directory as follows:
PKUNZIP DIALM72 C:\DIALM[CR]
If you have already un-zipped the files to another directory, copy them to
the DIALM directory using the DOS COPY command.
*********************************IMPORTANT********************************
Users upgrading from a previous version of DIALM should not not copy the
.INI and .DIR files if it is desired to preserve ones already in existence.
*********************************IMPORTANT********************************
******************************
IF YOU RECEIVED A DISK FROM ME
******************************
The files will already be unzipped.
If there is an "INSTALL.BAT" file on your disk, type:
install d:\path
where d:\path is the drive and directory where you want to install DIALM.
*********************************IMPORTANT********************************
If you have .INI and .DIR files you want to preserve, you should first
back then up to another disk or directory because this installation will
probably over-write them.
*********************************IMPORTANT********************************
This will take care of installation for you.
