Welcome to Compact Disc Library Manager (CDLM) version 1.0
By Jeff Hahn (phantom@io.org)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notice
------
This program is public domain, you can copy it at will and do
whatever you like, execpt modifing it.
Introduction
------------
This program is designed to catalog your CD collection in an easy,
managable way. It's ease of use is due to only three fields that record
your data, Artist, Title and Year Released. No unnecessary fields to
clutter up or waste time entering.
Files Included
--------------
MUSIC.EXE - The actual executable program file
MUSIC.DOC - This file
MUSIC.INI - The initalization file
******** Do not lose MUSIC.INI or make any changes to it. *******
Starting Up
-----------
Make a directory to put all CDLM related files into, the data file that
stores all of your CD's (the default is music.lst) and all other *.lst files
must be in the same directory as music.exe and music.ini.
To run the program, simply type MUSIC in the directory that contains the
music.exe file. The first time you run MUSIC, a default file of MUSIC.LST
will be created and 1 blank record created. Do not delete this blank record
until you have entered at least one other record. Once you have some of your
data in, you can delete the blank record by pressing DELETE when highlighting
the record.
The Keys
--------
UP/DOWN ARROW KEYS - These move the highlighing bar from record to record.
PageUp/PageDown - This will move up or down one page at a time (16 records)
INSERT - This will add a record into the database. It will ask for the
artist's name (upto 50 characters), the title (up to 60
characters) and the year released (up to 7 characters).
DELETE - This will delete a record, it will prompt for confirmation.
ENTER/F9 - Edits a record
ESC - Exits CDLM
F1 - Help, this gives a brief outline on what to do.
F2 - Open, this will open another LST file for display.
F3 - Print, this will output the database to the printer.
F4 - ReSort, this will change how the database is sorted on the screen
