  30. Description of Installation Process:
  31.     You need to unzip the downloaded file into a temporary directory.  Once accomplished run the SETUP.EXE file. This automatically installs the program files into whatever directory you wish (it will create the directory if it does not exist). It then creates a Program Manager group and places the progam's icon into it. (Don't forget to delete the files in the temporary directory once installation is complete.  They are no longer needed).

  36. Listing/Description of Features:
  37.     Daily Notes offers easy one mouse click entry of notes.  Each entry consists of the date, a subject and a text field.  Each note has its own "Calendar" button which calls up a graphic month display.  This feature lets you click on the day you want and send the selected days information to your Daily Note entry.

  39.     Each note also has its own seperate Delete and Print buttons so there is little chance of making the mistake of deleting or printing out the wrong note. When you do delete a note all the other notes in the database which come after it are moved up one place to fill the void (unlike some other shareware PIM's I have seen).

  41.     It allows you to use date filters for displaying notes (this is very handy for displaying notes within a certain time frame or only after (or before) a certain date). You can sort your notes by Date or alphabetically by Subject.

  43.     It allows you to search for any text within your records so you can find entries quickly and easily.  Upon the first instance, Daily Notes stops and displays that note (highlighting the text you are looking for).  If you want it to look for further instances of the text just click on the "Find Next" button and it will proceed to its next occurence.

  45.     Daily Notes has a password feature to keep uninvited guests from viewing your information. For added peace of mind the program also creates backup files of your notes automatically.

  55.     Daily Notes for Windows v1.3 is one of the easiest to use PIM's around.  It has some nice features in a spiral notebook display.  With a price tag of only $15.00 you really cannot go wrong.  Anyone who spends time with lots of little bits of paper containing records of their appointments, things to do, and personal or business related notes could get organized with Daily Notes for Windows.

  57.     If you are looking for something with a bit more power (phone/address book, to do list, appointment book and calender, and more) then I suggest downloading Time & Chaos Professional by iSBiSTER, International, Inc. This is one of my all time favorite programs. But, if you are simply looking for a freeform day book to help you keep track of things then Daily Notes for Windows may be just the program you are looking for.  It is worth the download.

  63.     There were no compatiblity problems, General Protection Faults (GPF's), or program errors detected in my evaluation of this software.

  66. Suggestions for improvements:
  67.     Have the option of running the program as a full size window (but, this is just a minor hang-up of mine.  It does not detract from the program at all) and to add an address/phone listing.
