  277.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  280.  This option allow you to specify which
  281.  files to extract from the compressed
  282.  file. You may specify more the one
  283.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  284.  cards are allowed.

  286. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  287.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  288.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  289.  of files in a window.  After the window
  290.  is displayed you tag the files to
  291.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  292.  After all files have been tagged press
  293.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  294.  files.
  295.  
  296. *altg   !!search for string!!
  297.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  298.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  299.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  300.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  301.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  302.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  303.  completed to results will be listed on the
  304.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  305.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  306.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  307.  
  308. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  309.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  310.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  311.  of files in a window.  After the window
  312.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  313.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  314.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  315.  key to process the tagged files.
  316.  
  317. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  318.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  319.  files from the compressed file into the
  320.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  321.  via the ALT-P command.
  322.  
  323. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  324.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  325.  and directory of where any extracted files
  326.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  327.  follows:
  328.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  329.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  330.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  331.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  332.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  333.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  334.  use it's floating extract location
  335.  logic.
  336.  
  337. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  338.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  339.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  340.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  341.  
  342. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  343.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  344.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  345.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  346.  file search pattern and press the enter
  347.  key.
  348.  The display will be repositioned to the
  349.  first or next file that matches the
  350.  pattern.
  351.  
  352. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  353.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  354.  the tagged file display line at the
  355.  bottom of the screen.

  358.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  359.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  360.  of files in a window.  After the window
  361.  is displayed you tag the files to
  362.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.

  365.  files.

  368.  This option will display the master
  369.  comment record and the file comment
  370.  records for the selected compressed
  371.  file.

  374.  This option will extract ALL files from
  375.  the compressed file into the current
  376.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  377.  the ALT-P command.

  380.  This option allows run a program against
  381.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  382.  to enter the program name to run, the
  383.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  384.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  385.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  386.  to pause after each execution of your
  387.  program.
  388.  
  389. *altz  !!virus check!!
  390.  This option will check files to see if they
  391.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  392.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  393.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  394.  and have used the configuration program to
  395.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  397.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK

  401.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  402.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  403.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  404.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  405.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  406.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  407.  compressed file contents screen.
  408.  
  409. *c  !!create-new!!
  410.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  411.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  412.  to enter the
  413.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  414.  compressed file to create, whether you
  415.  want to add or move files into the new
  416.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  417.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  418.  new compressed file.
  419.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  420.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  421.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  422.  HAP, and UC2 files!!!!!
  423.  
  424.  You will also be asked if you want to
  425.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  426.  the entered file spec as is.
  427.  
  428.  If the compression program you choose
  429.  supports saving path information you will
  430.  also be asked if you want to save
  431.  directory information, and if you want to
  432.  recurse the directory tree.
  433.  
  434.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  435.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  436.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  437.  information that can be stored inside the
  438.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  439.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  440.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  441.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)

  443.  
  444. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  445.  This option will delete all tagged files
  446.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  447.  asked to verify the delete before the
  448.  files are actually deleted from the
  449.  compressed file.
  450.  
  451. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  452.  This option will extract all tagged
  453.  files from the compressed file.
  454.  
  455. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  456.  This option will activate the alternate
  457.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  458.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  459.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  460.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  461.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  462.  
  463. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  464.  This option will set the compressed
  465.  file's time and date to the time and
  466.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  467.  the compressed file.
  468.  
  469. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  470.  This option will untag all currently
  471.  tagged files.
  472.  
  473. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  474.  This option will tag all files in the
  475.  currently displayed window.
  476.  
  477. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  478.  This option will convert a self
  479.  extracting file back to its native
  480.  compressed file format. The self
  481.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  482.  The normal compressed file will be
  483.  built on the same drive and directory
  484.  where self extracting file is found.
  485.  
  486. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  487.  This option allows you to copy all
  488.  tagged files from the current compressed
  489.  file into another compressed file.  The
  490.  target compressed file may be any
  491.  currently supported format.
  492.  
  493. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  494.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  495.  drop you off into disk and directory
  496.  that is specified as the extract
  497.  location.
  498.  
  499. *d  !!delete one file!!
  500.  This option will delete the currently
  501.  highlighted file from the compressed
  502.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  503.  delete before the delete is actually
  504.  done.
  505.  
  506. *e  !!extract one file!!
  507.  This option will extract the currently
  508.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  509.  drive and directory, or the
  510.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  511.  the ALT-P command.
  512.  
  513. *f      !!freshen!!
  514.  Using this option you can specify the
  515.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  516.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  517.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  518.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  519.  extensions.
  520.  
  521. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  522.  This option will temporarily exit to
  523.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  524.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  525.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  526.  the return key.
  527.  
  528. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  529.  This option will temporarily exit to
  530.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  531.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  532.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  533.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  534.  
  535. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  536.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  537.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  538.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  539.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  540.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  541.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  542.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  543.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  544.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  545.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  546.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  547.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  548.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  549.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  550.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  551.  
  552. *af2 !!smart extract
  553.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  554.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  555.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  556.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  557.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  558.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  559.  
  560. *f8  !!edit!!
  561.  This option will allow you to edit a
  562.  file in the compressed file.  This
  563.  option will only work if you specified
  564.  an editor to use when you configured
  565.  compressedPER.
  566.  
  567. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  568.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  569.  the list.
  570.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  571.  order for each sort type. The sort
  572.  order specified will remain in effect
  573.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.
  574.  
  575. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  576.  This option will allow you to set the
  577.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  578.  programs.  When you set the compression
  579.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  580.  change it again.
  581.  
  582.  
  583. *g  !!password!!
  584.  This option allows you to specify the password
  585.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  586.  compression program does not support passwords
  587.  an error window will appear informing you that
  588.  the option is not supported.
  589.  
  590. *i  !!show info!!
  591.  This option will show information about
  592.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  593.  files in file, total size of all files,
  594.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  595.  
  596. *m     !!mode!!
  597.  Using this option you can specify the
  598.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  599.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  600.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  601.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  602.  extensions.
  603.  
  604. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  605.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  606.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  607.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  608.  the compressed display heading line.
  609.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  610.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  611.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  612.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  613.  
  614. *p  !!path options!!
  615.  This option allows you to specify if you
  616.  want to save and/or use path information
  617.  when working with compressed files.
  618.
