  1.  This is the Windows README file for PocketD Plus v4.4  - PocketWare
  2.  -------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.  PocketD Plus is an extremely powerful DOS-based file manager that
  4.  allows the user to perform file manipulations far beyond the
  5.  capacity of Windows Program Manager. PocketD Plus received "BEST
  6.  UTILITY" awards in 1992, 1994 and 1995 by PsL, WHAT PC and
  7.  Ziff-Davis (BBSCON-TWO).

  9.  PocketD Plus is a Shareware product, and requires a registration
  10.  payment after a 30-day trial period.   PocketWare - ASP Member
  11.  
  12.  Using PocketD inside Windows
  13.  ----------------------------
  14.  The menu-driven interface "MenuD" for PocketD Plus is not a Windows
  15.  application, but can be easily used from within Windows. It will
  16.  support a Microsoft mouse, but only if a mouse driver has already
  17.  been installed (e.g. MOUSE.COM or MOUSE.SYS). The mouse interface
  18.  is optimised for efficient use within MenuD rather than the more
  19.  common Windows-style usage.

  21.  PocketD Plus for Windows?

  23.  This is a future project. Existing registered PocketD users will be
  24.  able to upgrade to PocketD for Windows for a heavily discounted
  25.  price, when it becomes available.

  27.  What is PocketD used for?

  29.  PocketD allows the user to look for, browse, examine, copy and
  30.  manipulate files with the flexibility of a programming language. It
  31.  is astonishingly powerful for performing operations for which there
  32.  is no other reasonable solution.

  36.  MenuD provides full access to the on-line guide and manual which
  37.  describes each of the 220 options in detail and provides worked
  38.  examples. The install disk also includes printable documentation
  39.  files giving quick examples, network management uses and a general
  40.  introduction.

  42.  The registered version comes with a comprehensive bound 110-page
  43.  pocket-sized manual which is packed with many example applications
  44.  from common day-to-day disk and network management to exotic
  45.  examples such as the automatic generation of C source code.
