The following files are contained in the SHAREWARE version of

I_CACHE.EXE............The I_Cache program file.
I_CACHE.DOC............Instruction manual for the operation of
I_CACHE.EXE.
I_HELP.EXE.............Help program which not only gives basic helpful
hints for installation, but also contains an indexed
reader for I_CACHE.DOC. Run this utility from the
command line. Make sure you are in the same directory
as I_HELP.EXE and that I_HELP.EXE and I_CACHE.DOC
are in the same directory.
IC_LOW.SYS.............Driver for split loading the i/o buffer of
I_CACHE.EXE into low memory. See I_CACHE.DOC,
page 24, for further details on the use of this
driver.
ISICACHE.EXE...........Example of a program which uses the I_CACHE

WHATS.NEW..............Explains the various improvements in different

VDMA.EXE...............Utility to check for the presence of Virtual DMA
services (VDS) on your computer and if your computer

for further details on Virtual DMA Services. Run
this utility from the command line.
!!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!!
I_CACHE is NOT compatible with other disk caches, including VCACHE and
other components of 32BitFileAccess. Please do not run any other disk
caches along with I_CACHE !!
Windows-for-Work-Groups
-----------------------
If you wish to use Windows-for-Work-Groups 32BitFileAccess feature, then
turn OFF the appropriate drive in I_CACHE so I_CACHE does not manage the
same drive. For example, if the components of 32BitFileAccess are managing
drives C & D, the use I_CACHE /a:c-d- to turn off I_CACHE's management
of those drives. I_CACHE would then only manage external and CD-ROM drives.
Please see I_CACHE.DOC, pages 11, 12, and 23.
However, you may find that I_CACHE outperforms 32BitFileAccess so, if you
wish to use I_CACHE instead, then disable 32BitFileAccess and its components
in the Windows System.ini file.
Please see the SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY section in I_CACHE.DOC, starting on
page 23 for notes on other software.
MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISKS
---------------------
I_Cache will be compatible with these disks only if they utilize a standard
DOS boot sector. I_Cache will handle media configured in 512, 1024, and
2048 bytes-per-sector.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! QEMM 7.5 USERS READ THIS !!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------
QEMM 7.5 seems to have a problem loading I_CACHE high and sometimes
eroneously reports that it needs 60k+ to load. If you experience this
problem, use the /SIZE parameter to force a smaller load block:
loadhi /size:49k i_cache.exe ............
