  2. The following files are contained in the SHAREWARE version of
  3. I_CACHE.ZIP Ver1.11:

  6. I_CACHE.EXE............The I_Cache program file.

  8. I_CACHE.DOC............Instruction manual for the operation of
  9.                        I_CACHE.EXE.
  10.  
  11. I_HELP.EXE.............Help program which not only gives basic helpful
  12.                        hints for installation, but also contains an indexed
  13.                        reader for I_CACHE.DOC.  Run this utility from the
  14.                        command line.  Make sure you are in the same directory
  15.                        as I_HELP.EXE and that I_HELP.EXE and I_CACHE.DOC
  16.                        are in the same directory.

  18. IC_LOW.SYS.............Driver for split loading the i/o buffer of
  19.                        I_CACHE.EXE into low memory.  See I_CACHE.DOC,
  20.                        page 24, for further details on the use of this
  21.                        driver.

  23. ISICACHE.EXE...........Example of a program which uses the I_CACHE
  24.                        API (see I_CACHE.DOC).

  26. IS_IC.COM..............Small utility which, if run from the
  27.                        command line, will return an ERRORLEVEL of
  28.                        1 if I_CACHE.EXE is installed.

  30. REGISTER.FRM...........Registration Form for I_CACHE.EXE.

  34. I_CACHE.ICO............Windows icon for I_Cache.

  40.                        services (VDS) on your computer and if your computer
  41.                        supports these services.  See I_CACHE.DOC, page 24,
  42.                        for further details on Virtual DMA Services.  Run

  51. I_CACHE is NOT compatible with other disk caches, including VCACHE and
  52. other components of 32BitFileAccess.  Please do not run any other disk
  53. caches along with I_CACHE !!

  56. Windows-for-Work-Groups
  57. -----------------------

  59. If you wish to use Windows-for-Work-Groups 32BitFileAccess feature, then
  60. turn OFF the appropriate drive in I_CACHE so I_CACHE does not manage the
  61. same drive.  For example, if the components of 32BitFileAccess are managing
  62. drives C & D, the use I_CACHE /a:c-d- to turn off I_CACHE's management
  63. of those drives.  I_CACHE would then only manage external and CD-ROM drives.

  66. However, you may find that I_CACHE outperforms 32BitFileAccess so, if you
  67. wish to use I_CACHE instead, then disable 32BitFileAccess and its components
  68. in the Windows System.ini file.

  76. MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISKS

  79. I_Cache will be compatible with these disks only if they utilize a standard
  80. DOS boot sector.  I_Cache will handle media configured in 512, 1024, and
  81. 2048 bytes-per-sector.

  87. QEMM 7.5 seems to have a problem loading I_CACHE high and sometimes
  88. eroneously reports that it needs 60k+ to load.  If you experience this
  89. problem, use the /SIZE parameter to force a smaller load block:

  101. are entitled to use it for a trial period of 30 days. After that,

  105. business, education and government agencies, this program should
