  9. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors and
  10. Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the MECCAID DEMO.

  13.                     Description of MECCAID 5.1 DEMO
  14. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15. Short Description:
  16. MECCAID is a large symbol library for use with the TommySoftware CAD/DRAW
  17. drawing application for Windows. The complete package contains hundreds of
  18. symbols for (almost) all of the parts available in the Meccano construction system, and
  19. a 36 page user guide. This demo contains a selection of parts and sample drawings
  20. enabling simple models to be constructed.

  23. Long Description:
  24. MECCAID is a large symbol library for use with the TommySoftware CAD/DRAW
  25. drawing application for Windows. The complete package contains hundreds of
  26. symbols for (almost) all of the parts available in the Meccano construction system, and
  27. a 36 page user guide. Each part has is available in all the required projections
  28. and orientations to enable both isometric and planar drawings to be constructed. 
  29. The library has been designed so that parts easily "snap" precisely together using
  30. the TS CAD/DRAW catch functions. Why pay a small fortune for a "Number 1" Meccano 
  31. set - now you can "build" any model you can imagine. This library is ideal for both
  32. the keen hobbyist and the commercial user, and would make a superb
  33. introduction to CAD and Engineering for any computer literate youngster.
  34. The files on this Meccaid demonstration disk contain a suitable selection 
  35. of parts that enable simple models to be 'constructed'. The selection also
  36. contains extracts from the main library of spur gears so that some 
  37. experimental gearboxes can be built. Sample drawings include a small 6-wheeled
  38. modern tractor unit. There are sufficient parts on this disk to enable it to be
  39. rebuilt.

  41. Note that the full MECCAID package is only for sale to registered users of
  42. TommySoftware CAD/DRAW.

  44. MECCAID is distributed internationally by Omicron Systems Ltd, and is
  45. copyright Roger Wallis of Birmingham, England. Although designed specifically
  46. to complement the TommySoftware CAD/DRAW package it has not been produced by
  47. TommySoftware who bear no responsibility for the content of this disk or
  48. the full MECCAID library.

  51.                           Distribution Requirements
  52. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

  54. Individuals who wish to distribute the MECCAID DEMO to friends or associates
  55. may do so as long as all files remain intact and no fees are charged.
  56.  
  57. Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add the MECCAID DEMO to their disk
  58. library may do so in accordance with the Distribution Restrictions listed below.

  60. Limited Distribution License:

  63. ASP Approved Vendors in good standing are hereby given permission to distri-
  64. bute MECCAID by means of catalog, or BBS. Any other form of commercial 
  65. distribution by anyone requires prior permission.

  67. Non-ASP member vendors must request permission prior to distributing this
  68. package.

  73. The MECCAID DEMO package is defined as containing all the material
  74. listed in the PACKING.LST text file. If any files listed in the PACKING.LST
  75. text file, or the PACKING.LST file itself, are missing, then the package is
  76. not complete and distribution is forbidden. Please contact us to obtain a
  77. complete package suitable for distribution.

  79. The MECCAID DEMO package - including all related program files and
  80. documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any way and must be distributed
  81. as a complete package, without exception. The PACKING.LST text file contains
  82. a list of all files that are part of the MECCAID DEMO package.

  84. ( Small additions to the package, such as the introductory or installation
  85.   batch files used by many shareware disk vendors, are acceptable as long as
  86.   the final installation of MECCAID DEMO is still performed by
  87.   means of the original program INSTALL.EXE. )

  89. No price or other compensation may be charged for the TommySoftware CAD/DRAW
  90. package. A distribution fee may be charged for the cost of the diskette,
  91. shipping and handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  92. US$ 10.00 in the U.S. and Canada, or US$ 12.00 internationally.

  95. Disk Sets & CD-ROMs:

  97. The MECCAID DEMO package CANNOT be sold as part of some other
  98. inclusive package. Nor can it be included in any commercial software packaging
  99. offer, without a written agreement from Omicron Systems Ltd. This includes any 
  100. sales in a retail environment.

  102. Vendors (non-ASP Vendor Members) who wish to distribute the TommySoftware
  103. CAD/DRAW package as part of a collection (such as a multi-program set, or a
  104. CD-ROM package) must obtain permission from from Omicron Systems Ltd.

  106. If you wish to add any of our programs to a CD-ROM or other collection, please
  107. check the release date of the version you have. If the version is over twelve
  108. (12) months old then please contact us to ensure that you have the most current
  109. version. This version was released in March 1994.

  112. Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution:

  114. If you would like to distribute the MECCAID DEMO package as a Disk-of-the-Month, 
  115. or as part of a subscription or monthly service, then the following 
  116. restrictions apply:

  118.  - ASP Associate (Disk Vendor) Members in good standing are hereby given
  119.    permission to distribute the current MECCAID DEMO package under
  120.    the Disk-of-the-Month style of distribution.
  121.  
  122.  - Others (non-ASP Members) must contact Omicron Systems Ltd in
  123.    advance to ensure that you have the most current version of the software.
  124.  
  125.  - You cannot use a Disk-of-the-Month distribution to use up your inventory
  126.    of old (out of date) disks. Only current versions may be shipped as
  127.    Disk-of-the-Month disks.

  129. The PRINTED User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or in part, using
  130. any means, without the written permission of Omicron Systems Ltd. In other words,
  131. any disk-based documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED (hardcopy)
  132. form.

  134. The MECCAID DEMO package cannot be "rented" or "leased" to others.

  139. You may not list any of our products in advertisements, catalogs, or other
  140. literature which describes our products as "FREE SOFTWARE". Shareware is
  141. "Try-Before-You-Buy" software, it is not free.

  143. Omicron Systems Ltd prohibits the distribution of outdated versions of the
  144. MECCAID DEMO package by anyone, without written permission from
  145. Omicron Systems Ltd. If the version you have is over twelve (12) months old, please
  146. contact us to ensure that you have the most current version. This version was
  147. released in March 1994.

  149. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  150. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program
  151. except as provided in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result
  152. in immediate and automatic termination of this license.

  157.     NOTICE FOR PREPARING AND SEPARATING CAD/DRAW FILES FOR DISTRIBUTION:

  160. The MECCAID DEMO package is designed for distribution on a single 3.5" high-
  161. density diskette - our research indicates that anyone with hardware capable
  162. of running TommySoftware CAD/DRAW will have a high-density disk drive.
  163.  
  164. If you upload to a bulletin board, please zip the entire contents of this disk
  165. into a single file with the name MECAID.ZIP - ensuring that the zip file preserves
  166. the directory structure on the disk.
