I've been trying to avoid "space art" as a subject, just 'cause everybody else has done it
to death. So you'll notice my designs are a bit different, being based on Japanese and
American toys from the '60's.
The artwork I'm submitting was created with Real 3D, version 3.3, which I've been using
for about four years. It's been said that R3D is one of the hardest packages to learn,
though it offers better output quality than Lightwave or 3D Studio. The Amiga version
has a great manual so, if you take it slow, you'll get there in a few months. And the trip
can be a lot of fun as well. I'm still enjoying it, though I have worked with Softimage on
the SGI and it's much easier to set-up lights and make changes. (sigh!)
Touch-ups and general cheating was done with Photoshop 2.5 for Macintosh, Photoge-
nics 2, and Imagemaster RT on the Amiga 3000.
