  85.  
  86.         NOTE: nnn stands for current version number, i.e. 305,...

  88.             1.  copy petpennn.zip to your hard disk, preferably NOT
  89.                 to the directory you want to install into.
  90.  
  91.                     copy a:\petpennn.zip c:\tmp
  92.  
  93.             2.  unzip petpennn.zip  (you must have pkunzip.exe)
  94.  
  95.                     PKUNZIP PETPEnnn.ZIP
  96.  
  97.             4.  setup (defaults from where it is to c:\pe)
  98.  
  99.                     SETUP
  100.  
  101.         If you want to get fancy with SETUP.EXE, below are some
  102.         additional options:
  103.  
  104.         SETUP needs the following files (minimally) to work properly:
  105.  
  106.             SETUP.EXE
  107.             KEY.PED    <- setup.exe cannot run without this file
  108.             PED.EXE    <- very important that it be intact as one file
  109.             README.1st <- not critical, this file
  110.             *.TXT      <- not critical, but nice
  111.  
  112.         It en-extracts PED.EXE from where it is into the specified (or
  113.         default c:\pe) directory.
  114.  
  115.         It copies README.1st, DOC.EXE and all the .TXT files into the
  116.         same directory.
  117.  
  118.         It then changes to that directory.
  119.  
  120.         It then marks pE with your name, personalizing your copy.
  121.  
  122.         IT MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THESE STEPS IN ORDER TO INSTALL PE
  123.         CORRECTLY.
  124.  
  125.         It then starts pE.
  126.  
  127.         Type Setup d1[:] d2:\path
  128.  
  129.             where D1 = the drive where setup is located and
  130.                   D2:\path is where you want pe installed.
  131.                   (defaults are current drive and c:\pe)
  132.  
  133.         If d1: and d2: are both floppies, they must be different.
  134.  
  135.         NOTE: If system was booted from floppy, command.com must
  136.               be copied to distribution disk before install.
  137.  
  138.               setup a: b:\       installs pe from a: to b:\
  139.  
  140.               setup a: c:\pe     installs pe onto drive c: from a:
  141.  
  142.               setup c: c:\utils  install pe into directory utils
  143.                                  of drive c: from the current
  144.                                  directory (also on drive c:).
  145.  
  146.         pE documentation is in an executable form in file
  147.         pehelp.exe.  It can be viewed from withing pE through
  148.         the help pull down or externally by typeing "pehelp".
  149.         It can be printed by following the directions in the
  150.         file.
