Virtual GameBoy/2 v0.6.1 beta 1 15 May 1996 Joe LoCicero
------------------------------------------------------------------
*NOTE* DO NOT SEND ME MAIL ASKING TO SEND YOU CARTRIDGE FILES OR TO
TELL YOU WHERE TO FIND THEM. All such letters are shredded
upon receipt.
This is the first release of Virtual GameBoy/2, the beta-level GameBoy
emulator that will let you play GameBoy games on your OS/2 desktop!
It is also the first release in the LEGS Project for OS/2. LEGS
stands for Legacy Emulation Gaming System, and represents a movement
to preserve antique and traditional video gaming systems under the OS/2
platform.
To use VGB/2, you must have:
- DIVE compliant OS/2 system (Warp, and >= 256 colors)
- >= 8MB memory (but then again, OS/2 needs that too...)
- some free time!
Settings
--------
You can use most of the command line arguments detailed in the VGB.DOC file,
but I heartily recommend the "Opts" options dialog, which lets you
set the following options:
Vertical Blanking Period -- This number represents how many Z80 cycles
are processed between each VBI command.
Defaults to 5000.
Update Period -- This number represents how many VBI commands
must be sent before the screen is updated.
Defaults to 2.
Check CRC -- Turns CRC checking of the .GB image on or off.
Delay Line Interrupts -- This may fix "dirty" horizontal lines for a
specific game. Since it's not a universal
parameter, you may have to change this for
various games.
All of these settings are saved in the VGB2.INI file, along with the
current window size and position.
Color and key configuration will be available in the next beta release,
Only the following command line options are supported:
-vperiod Set VBlank interrupts period
-uperiod Set number of interrupts per screen update
-checkcrc Check CRC of image
-delay/nodelay Delay/don't delay coincidence int-s
-cheat Activate a GameGenie cheat

and email bug reports to vgb2@joyce.eng.yale.edu, or post them to
comp.os.os2.games.
Special thanks go out to the members of #adept, who made excellent
suggestions on VGB/2, and urged me to get it out the door as soon
as possible.
