  1. Soup KIDchen is a native OS/2 Warp Edutainment product for
  2. children ages 2-6.  It is a unique program that encourages
  3. parents to take an active role in their child's edutainment by
  4. allowing complete configurablility (drag-n-drop enabled) of
  5. the images, sounds and words that are presented in each of the
  6. Letters, Numbers, Colors and Shapes modules.  Extra fun results
  7. when the parent and child work together to create the images
  8. and sounds.
  9.  
  10. The distributed program does not contain a complete database.
  11. Rather, an example database is provided.  Therefore, if you get
  12. the message "Image Not Found" when you run the program, don't
  13. worry- you've simply chosen an item that doesn't have an entry
  14. in the database.

  16. Soup KIDchen will require approximately 7 megabytes of disk
  17. space to install.
  18.  
  19. This version of Soup KIDchen is equivalent to version 1.00s
  20. with the exception that all the sounds are 8-bit rather than
  21. 16-bit.

  33. INSTALLATION for 3.5" floppy disk distribution:
  34.  
  35.   Insert Disk 1 into drive A: or B:.  From the command line,
  36.   change to that drive and type INSTALL.  Alternatively, open
  37.   the drive object for that drive and double-click on INSTALL.CMD.

  41.   Copy the contents of Disk 1 and Disk 2 to a temporary directory
  42.   on your hard drive.  From the command line, change to that drive
  43.   and directory and type INSTALL.  Alternatively, open that folder
  44.   and double-click on INSTALL.CMD.

  47. INSTALLATION for zipfile archive distribution:

  49.   Unzip the archive to a temporary directory on your hard drive.
  50.   From the command line, change to that drive and directory and
  51.   type INSTALL.  Alternatively, open that folder and double-click
  52.   on INSTALL.CMD.

  56. CREATING 3.5" DISKETTES from the zipfile archive distribution:
  57.  
  58.   Two diskettes are needed to distribute Soup KIDchen on 3.5"
  59.   media.  The first disk should contain the files:
  60.  
  61.     Readme.1st       (this file)
  62.     Install.cmd
  63.     SupK101s.ex1
  64.  
  65.   The second disk should contain the file
  66.  
  67.     SupK101s.ex2
  68.  
  69.   No special volume labels are required.

  73. UN-INSTALLING Soup KIDchen:      :-(
  74.  
  75.   To remove Soup KIDchen from your system, simply
  76.  
  77.    1) Drag any Soup KIDchen folder(s) and/or program objects
  78.    to the shredder.
  79.  
  80.    2) Delete the Soup KIDchen directory (and its sub-directories).
  81.    One way to do this is by finding the Soup KIDchen directory folder
  82.    in the Drives object and dragging it to the shreddder.

  84.    Soup KIDchen does not modify any system files or place files
  85.    anywhere other than the installation directory, so this is all
  86.    you need to do!

  92.   Soup KIDchen is packaged to be self-extracting using Info-ZIP's
  93.   compression utility.  Info-ZIP's software (Zip, UnZip and related
  94.   utilities) is free and can be obtained as source code or
  95.   executables from various bulletin board services and anonymous-ftp
  96.   sites, including CompuServe's IBMPRO forum and
  97.   ftp.uu.net:/pub/archiving/zip/*.
