  1. Readme for Animouse (tm) demo.

  3. First of all...
  4. Sentience Software takes NO RESPONSIBILITY for anything good/bad/otherwise 
  5. that might befall your computer as a result of using this program.
  6. Use of this software constitutes agreement to the above.
  7.  
  8. That out of the way -- Welcome to Animouse!  
  9.  
  10. Animouse is a simple program to animate your OS/2 mouse pointers.
  11. The animouse demo offers you a chance to check out the software and
  12. make sure it works correctly on your machine (see below) before you
  13. buy it.  The demo offers all the functionality of the full version
  14. with the following restrictions:
  15.  
  16. - Only 2 sample animations are included
  17. - Creation, editing, and deletion of animations is disabled.
  18. - 1/2 hour time limit
  19.

  21. -- INSTALLATION -- 
  22. We hope you enjoy the demo.  In order to minimize download time,
  23. we did not include a graphical installation program with it (although
  24. there is one in the full product).  Instead, after unzipping the 
  25. package, you will find a file named 'install.cmd'.  This file will:
  26.  
  27.    a) Create a Folder on your desktop
  28.    b) Place an Animouse Demo program object in the folder
  29.    c) Place a shadow of the program object in your startup folder
  30.  
  31. If you are not using the Workplace Shell, then you may execute
  32. Animouse directly from the command line, or from your shell of
  33. choice.

  36. -- REMOVAL -- 
  37. 1) Run remove.cmd OR manually
  38.    a) Delete Animouse demo program object
  39.    b) Delete Startup folder shadow
  40.    c) Delete folder
  41.  
  42. 2) Delete the program files.
  43. 3) You are done!

  46. -- FLICKERING AND BLINKING --
  47. It has been reported that Animouse blinks uncontrollably on some 
  48. video cards, most notably the Tseng ET4000 based cards and some 
  49. Trident cards.  In addition, this blink varies from card to card.
  50. Some cards exhibit extreme blink with 2 color animations.  Others,
  51. which have hardware acceleration, will be ROCK SOLID with these
  52. animations.  Most current cards will exhibit a small amount of 
  53. flicker with color animations, but not enough to really be bothersome.
  54. For this reason, you should try out both of the animations included
  55. with the demo.  The 'Hand' animation is 2 color only while the 
  56. 'Winwag' animation is 16 color.
