Upgrading to Weather Board 1.48
--------------------------------
This document is only for people that are currently running a version
of Weather Board prior to 1.48. New users should refer to the
installation section of the WB.DOC file.
The Upgrade Procedure
----------------------
All versions: If you have WBDOSH.EXE or WBOS2H.EXE in the \WB
directory, delete them. These two programs are no longer needed.
Upgrading from 1.46 - 1.47 :
1.48 requires a new line in WB.CFG. Its line # 21, and it controls the
drive and path that Weather Board uses to store and edit its capture
files. The editied output files are placed here also. Line 21 should
be set to NONE for Weather Board to use the current directory. This
will make it work like it always has. If you want to Weather Board to
put the files on a ramdisk or other drive / dirctory, specify the
COMPLETE drive and path on line 21, including the trailing slash!
Examples: E:\JOE\
F:\
If you enable this option, be sure to edit the copy statements in Z.BAT
or Z.CMD so they will pick up the relocated files!
Upgrading from 1.40 - 1.45 :
1.48 requires two new config file lines, numbers 20 & 21. See the
explanation above for line 21. Line 20 is the "zone update" flag. It
determines what Weather Board should do if the zone forecast number you
requested was not found in the Weathermation capture file. You also
need to add an IF ERRORLEVEL 2 line to your batch file. This
errorlevel should branch around any copy statements for your BBS
bulletins. WB will genetate this errorlevel if the zone number wasn't
found, and you do not want your bulletins updated with all of your
state's forecast zones.
Upgrading from 1.39 and previous :
Since there have been MANY changes to the program, it would be best if
you use the new WB.CFG file and Z.BAT or Z.CMD files to run it. I
think it will be easier for you to re-edit your copy statements and
config options rather than add in all the changes to these files. This
is especially true if you have a fairly old version of Weather Board.
That's it. I hope you enjoy this new version of Weather Board!
