  2. MIDGET/16 - README.1ST

  5. Midget is a simple yet capable calculator, intended as a civilized
  6. replacement for the calculator included with Windows.
  7.  
  8. This is the 16-bit version, programmed for Windows 3.1. It will
  9. also run under Windows 95 or NT, although you may then prefer
  10. MIDGET/32, the native 32-bit version.
  11.  
  12. Midget is copyright ⌐ 1996 by J. Andrzej Wrotniak. The program is
  13. marketed as shareware: you are granted a trial license to use it
  14. for 30 days. After this time you have a choice between registering
  15. the program (purchasing a permanent license, $10) or removing it
  16. from your system. Details can be found in the Help file.
  17. CompuServe members can register on-line (GO SWREG).

  20. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
  21.  
  22. Any computer capable of running Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 will
  23. do. A color VGA or SVGA monitor is required. A mouse is supported
  24. but not really necessary.

  26. The program files need about 500k of disk space.

  29. INSTALLATION
  30.  
  31. Create a new directory (any name, anywhere), copy all Midget
  32. files to it. Done.
  33.  
  34. The program does not require any files not supplied in the
  35. distribution archive (except, of course, the standard parts of
  36. the Windows system). It does not create or modify any files
  37. outside of its own directory.

  40. DEINSTALLATION
  41.  
  42. Delete the Midget directory with all the files inside it.

  45. PACKING LIST

  47. The distribution archive contains nine files:
  48.  
  49. MIDGET.EXE   - the program file
  50. MIDGET.HLP   - the help file
  51. MIDG_DON.WAV -
  52. MIDG_ERR.WAV - two sound files
  53. KALKULP.FON  -
  54. KALKULT.FON  - two screen font files
  55.  
  56. README.1ST   - the file you are reading now
  57. FILE_ID.DIZ  - a brief program description in a standard format
  58. VENDINFO.DIZ - info for shareware vendors and BBS operators
  59.  
  60. The last three files are not necessary for the program operation
  61. and can be safely deleted after reading. The sound  files also
  62. can be deleted if you do not care for sound effects in the
  63. program. Do NOT try to delete or replace the font files!

  65. Upon registration one more file will be included on your disk
  66. or sent to you via email:

  68. MIDGET.KEY - your personal registration key file, recognized by
  69. program updates; this is the file you are not supposed to
  70. distribute under terms of the license.
