PLAYING GRUNT! IN LOCAL MODE
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
GRUNT! can be played in LOCAL mode. To do so, use the batch file
included with GRUNT! called "LOCAL.BAT". This file reads the file
"LOCAL.SYS", and uses the name "LOCAL LOGIN".
All that is required is a text file. The first line of the text file
should contain your name. Run GRUNT in local mode by using the
following command line:
GRUNT.EXE /C=5 /P=PLAYER.TXT
NOTE: The file stated above, "PLAYER.TXT" is only in reference to a
text file you could use. You may use any text file you wish,
as long as the first line of the textfile contains a valid
name [such as your own...]
You will not run out of time in LOCAL sessions. If you are playing on
a BBS and wish to reset your time or stats, run CLEANUP [see
section on CLEANUP]
If you wish to run GRUNT! in "multi-player-mode" using DesqView or
Windows, simply copy the LOCAL.BAT to LOCAL1.BAT (and so forth), and
copy the LOCAL.SYS to LOCAL1.SYS (and so forth). Make sure each batch
file points to the new LOCAL.SYS, and modify the LOCAL.SYS changing the
name "LOCAL LOGIN" to a different name (ie. LOCAL LOGIN1).
Enjoy!
