- DISCLAIMER: This software is provided "AS IS" without any warranty of
- any kind, either expressed or implied. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
-
- Copyright 1993 by Bill Esposito. This program is FREEWARE, just let me
- know how you like it.
- ***********************************************************************
-
- 1. What is OMgr/2? It's a small PM program, written in REXX and
- compiled by Watcom's VX-Rexx, that will help you manage your
- Outbound directories and files.
-
- 2. OMgr/2 will allow you to view your outbound directories, by zone,
- and manipulate the files to change status, address, delete, create a poll,
- file request, and file attach.
-
-
- ** INSTALLATION **
-
- This archive contains.
-
- OMGR.EXE OMan/2 executable
- OMGR.ICO OMan/2 icon
- OMGR.DOC What you're reading
- EA.LZH Extended Attributes file
-
- *** Updating From Previous Versions of OMgr/2 ****
-
- 1. Delete all the files from any version earlier than 2.0. The files to
- delete are:
- OMGR.EXE
- OMGR.ICO
- OMGR.INI
- OMGR.DOC
- ***********************************************
- 2. REXX must be installed. If it is not, use the "selective install"
- option found in the OS/2 system, Setup folder to install REXX.
-
- 3. The Run Time Library, VROBJ.DLL, must also be present in one of
- your DLL directories. This file can be obtained from FERNWOOD or
- from my bbs by the name of VROBJ.ZIP.
-
- 4. UnArchive the OMGR-??.LZH archive into any directory. If you use an
- OS/2 LHarc program like LH2 v2.14, the EA's will automatically be applied.
- If you use a DOS version, then the file EA.LZH will appear in the
- directory. You will then have to un-LZH EA.LZH and apply the EA's with
- OS/2's eautil program.
-
- 5. Use the program template from the TEMPLATES folder to install
- OMgr/2, or you can use the "Add Programs" option from the "Migrate
- Applications" program in the System Setup folder.
-
-
- 6. If OS/2 is not installed on drive C:, you must create the directory
- C:\OS2. I know that this is a pain in the butt for some, but most users
- have OS/2 on drive C:. OMgr/2 will place it's ini file, omgr2.ini in that
- directory.
-
-
- ** OPERATION **
-
-
- 1. Just click on the OMgr/2 icon to start the program. Alternatively, you
- can start OMgr/2 from the OS/2 command line by typing 'OMGR'.
-
- 2. When OMgr/2 loads for the first time, you will be prompted for some
- configuration entries.
-
- a. Default Zone - Enter the default Zone. (ie. 1 or 2 or 73, etc)
- b. Default Outbound Directory - The full drive and path of the default
- zone. DO NOT ADD THE TRAILING BACKSLASH. (ex. d:\max\outbound)
- c. Fidouser.lst - Enter the full drive, path, and filename of your
- Fidouser.lst. If you dont use one, dont enter one. If a Fidouser.lst
- is defined, then your polls and re-address requests will be checked
- against the list. You will have the option to turn off this feature
- by clicking the "CHK" box.
- d. Enter the full drive, path, and filename of your favorite PM editor or
- Lister. The editor/lister MUST be a PM application. LSTPM from Oberon
- will work, LIST from V. Buerg will not. E.EXE and EPM.EXE will both work.
- e. OMgr/2 will create a configuration file called OMGR2.INI and place it
- in the c:\os2\ directory.
-
- 3. Once the program is loaded and configured, you will see a list of the files
- in your Zone 1 (or your default zone) outbound directory. To change zones,
- enter the new zone number into the ZONE box and click on the 'ZONE/DIR'
- BUTTON.
-
- 4. To Re-scan the current directory, click the 'ZONE/DIR' button
-
- 5. To display only the flow files (ie *.?ut, *.?lo, *.req, etc.) and not
- the mail packets, no-connects etc. (.mo?, .tu?, .pkt etc.) click on the
- 'MASK' check box.
-
- 6. To view/edit any file just double click on that file.
-
- 7. To change the file status to hold, normal, direct, or crash,
-
- a. Just highlight the desired file by clicking on it (sorry, only
- one file at a time)
-
- b. And then click the appropriate button.
-
- 8. To Re-address a file,
-
- a. Enter the new NET and NODE number in the blocks appropriately
- named NET and NODE :>
-
- b. Highlight the desired file by clicking on it.
-
- c. Click on the ADDRESS button.
-
- If you have defined the Fidouser.lst file in the OMGR.INI, then the
- Fidouser.lst will be searched. Since this is a simple search of
- Fidouser.lst, and since most nodelist compilers delete duplicate Sysop
- names from the list, you may get a "Address not found" error. This is
- probably due to the fact that the node in question has more than one
- nodelist entry, and your compiler deleted all occurrences of that Sysop's
- name but the last one. You may disable the search function by clicking
- the 'CHK' box. If you have NOT defined the Fidouser.lst, then searching
- will be disabled.
-
-
- 9. To create a POLL request,
-
- a. Enter the NET and NODE number in the NET and NODE blocks.
-
- b. Click on the POLL button.
-
- If you have defined the Fidouser.lst file in the OMGR.INI, then the
- Fidouser.lst will be searched. You may disable the search function
- by clicking the 'CHK' box. If you have NOT defined the Fidouser.lst,
- then searching will be disabled.
-
- 10. File attaches and File Requests. Requested and attached files are
- displayed under their parent .REQ or .?LO File. These are not
- actual files but just the displayed contents of the parent file.
- To take action on these files, you must double click on the parent
- file.
-
- example:
- Node Type Date
- ------------------------
- 132/152 REQ 08-25-93
- ....freq....omg2v23e.lzh
- ....freq....vrobj.zip
-
- To delete the request for vrobj.zip, you must double click on the
- parent (132/152 REQ). This will bring up your editor and you can
- delete vrobj.zip from the file. If you wish to delete all the files
- then just DELETE, as explained in para 11 below, the parent file.
- (132/152 REQ)
-
-
- 11. To delete a file,
-
- a. Highlight the desired file by clicking on it.
-
- b. Click on the DELETE button.
-
- 12. To Create a File Request,
-
- a. Enter the NET and NODE number in the NET and NODE blocks.
-
- b. Enter the filename in the "File Request/Attach" block.
-
- c. Click on the REQUEST button
-
- d. Subsequent requests to the same address will be appended.
-
-
- 13. To Create a File Attach,
-
- a. Enter the NET and NODE number in the NET and NODE blocks.
-
- b. Enter the drive\path\filename in the "File Request/Attach" block.
-
- c. Click on the ATTACH button
-
- d. Subsequent attaches to the same address will be appended.
-
- e. Omgr/2 always checks for the presence of the attached file.
-
- 14. You can change the original configuration options by clicking on the
- CONFIGURATION menu option. You will be presented with the same options
- as listed in para 2 above. OMgr/2 must be restarted for the changes to
- take effect.
