  5. Version 1.14 fixes all KNOWN bugs that were in version 1.13.
  6.  
  7. The method the program uses to build list boxes and large conference
  8. lists was enhanced and accelerated when handling huge QWK packets.
  9.  
  10. Preliminary efforts at wordwrap have been added (the logic for
  11. this is not yet finished, but it's enough of an improvement over
  12. the truncation method that we decided to release it).  Do NOT
  13. expect "perfect" wordwrapping at this point.  That feature is a
  14. "work in progress."
  15.  
  16. Fixed a bug in the Search feature.
  17.  
  18. The program now can handle 65,000 conferences (assuming you have
  19. the memory on your system to do that) with 16,000 message in each
  20. conference.  At this writing it makes CMPQwk one of only two
  21. known QWK readers in the world that can acheive this.  To our
  22. knowledge, there is no BBS in the world that can create a packet
  23. too large for CMPQwk to open (given that you have sufficient RAM
  24. and disk space on the system trying to read it).

  26. The beta program was opened up to registered users.  Their
  27. suggestions and comments have been quite helpful.

  29. The help file was revised and further expanded to provide
  30. more information regarding search and the Message Header
  31. dialogue.

  33. If you do not have a sound card, you can delete the following
  34. files after the install: 001-009.DLL and DODAD.DLL.

  38. If you are upgrading from a previous version, just copy the updated
  39. files into your CMPQwk directory.  Be sure CMPQwk is NOT running
  40. when you do this, or nasty things will happen and you'll curse
  41. a lot.

  43. If you are installing a completely new copy of the program, unpack
  44. the files CQWK114A.ZIP and CQWK114B.ZIP into a temporary directory
  45. (anywhere on your hard disk where you have the space).  From the
  46. Windows Program Manager pick File, Run, and either click browse to
  47. locate SETUP.EXE inside the temporary directory, or type the path
  48. to the temporary directory and setup (C:\TEMP\SETUP.EXE).

  50. When setup loads, it will ask you from where it is installing.  Make
  51. sure it has the correct directory listed and then click on OK (or
  52. press Enter).  It will ask you where you'd like to install CMPQwk, so
  53. type the path where you'd like it to install (the default is C:\CMPQWK).

  55. Setup will copy some files and create a CMPQWK.INI file in your Windows
  56. directory.  It will also prompt you to add a CMPQWK icon if Program
  57. Manager is your shell.  Select the group in which to add it and click OK.

  59. When it's finished, it will tell you and then you may exit.

  61. Delete the files inside the temporary directory.  The first time you run
  62. the program it will open a sample packet.  Browse through the sample packet
  63. and when you're through, click on the Options menu and go confirm all of
  64. the program's paths and settings (see the help file for detailed instructions
  65. about this).  The most important settings are QWK, REP, and WORK paths.

  67. Everything else can be changed to your taste after you've used the
  68. program a bit.

  86. Read UPGRADE.TXT or UPGRADE.WRI (if you like nice fonts) to see how to do

  93. 1.14 and all versions up to 1.5.

  97. 1) You MUST HAVE WINDOWS 3.1 to run this program.  Trying to run it
  98.    under Windows 3.0 will NOT WORK, so don't try it.

  102.    to use it forever and ever, you should pay for it.  See the enclosed
