- required. This is NOT a free program. Please support
- the shareware concept. It can only survive with your
- support. To register ARIADNE! please print the file

- provided.
-
-
- PURPOSE
- ~~~~~~~
- ARIADNE!'s purpose is to help people easily find their
- way through the labyrinth of Manhattan.
-
-
- WHAT IT DOES?
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~
- You choose a street or place from a list of names and
- ARIADNE! gives you:
- a) the location of that address or its address if it
- is a place(i.e. a hotel).
- b) the ZIP code,
- c) the address of the parent post office.
- d) the phone number (for some categories only)
-
- The list contains over 1000 names of streets, avenues,
- places, squares, drives, walks, alleys, theaters,
- colleges, museums, libraries, hospitals, concert halls,
- parks, bridges, hotels, expressways clubs, restaurants
- and other points of general interest.
-
- You can choose the street you are interested in, by
- moving the cursor up and down or by typing the name of
- the address you are looking for. Most times typing the
- first characters of a street name will be adequate.
- Examples follow:
-
- i.e. Typing "Broadw" will take you to "Broadway"
-
- i.e. Typing "West 56" will take you to "West 56th
- Street"
-
- ∙ You can press Alt+A to go to the next name
- that matches the search pattern.
-
- ∙ You can always use the Backspace to delete the
- last character of the search pattern.
-
-
- Sorting Methods
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Alt+N......Alphabetical order
- Alt+R......Normal order
- Alt+Z......By ZIP code
- Alt+I......By ZIP code
-
- Alt+R:
- Sorts the list in the following way: numbered avenues,
- numbered streets, named streets and avenues, museums
- and libraries, colleges, general points of interest,
- theaters, hospitals, park, highways and bridges.
-
- Alt+Z:
- The streets that have the smaller ZIP code will appear
- on the top of the list (this depends on the value of
- the building number at the time you sort.
-
- Alt+I:
- The streets that have more than one ZIP code will move
- at the bottom of the list and the rest are sorted
- according to their ZIP code.
-
-
- Other Features
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- You can always print an address to a printer or file by
- pressing Alt+P.
-
- ** Context-sensitive help is available from any prompt.
-
- Press Alt+S to view and/or print the limits of a ZIP
- code area.
-

- museums, colleges, parks etc.
-
- ** Available only in registered version.
-
-
- CAUTION
- ~~~~~~~
- i)
- If the program gives you an answer this does not
- mean that the address you have provided exists.
- On the other hand if it does tell you that an
- address does not exist it is certain that the
- provided address does not exist.
-
- Addresses that have only one ZIP code usually
- are not checked for the validity of the building
- number you are providing. Whereas addresses
- that have more than one ZIP code are always
- checked for the validity of the building number.
- One way to check which streets have more than
- one ZIP code is to sort the list using Alt+Z or
- Alt+I. The names with a block have more than one
- ZIP code.
-
- ii)
- The cross-street is approximate. It could be
- one-two streets up or down.
-
- iii)
- The author is not responsible for recent changes
- of any of the given information.
-
-
- INSTALLATION
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~

- with a color or monochrome monitor. You must have
- at least ???KB free main memory.
-

-
