  1. CDPLAYER FOR WINDOWS - EVALUATION COPY

  3. The program on this disk is version 3.0 of our Windows audio CD Player
  4. program.  It provides complete control over the playing of audio CDs and the
  5. ability to catalogue your collection and browse through it.
  6.

  11. Upgrade notice

  14. Take a backup of your data files before upgrading!
  15.  
  16. Version 3.0 contains more track fields and increased field lengths for track
  17. titles.  If you have created a database using ver 1.1, you will have to run
  18. the upgrade program to adjust the field sizes.  To do this, install version
  19. 3.0, switch to the directory containing your data and run the program
  20. UPGRADE3.EXE.  E.g.
  21.

  23.         CD \CDPLAYER
  24.         UPGRADE3
  25.  
  26. Follow the instructions on the screen and your files will be updated.  Note
  27. that your old files will not be deleted, but renamed to DISCSV2.*.

  29. If you do not have your data stored in the same directory as the programs,
  30. switch to the data directory and call the upgrade program from the floppy
  31. drive, e.g.,
  32.

  34.         CD \DATADIR
  35.         A:UPGRADE3

  43. DOS CDPLAYER and MEMORY RESIDENT CD PLAYER
  44.  
  45. This disk should also contain a copy of CDPlayer(TM) for DOS.
  46.  
  47. Registered users will receive a resgistered copy of CDPlayer for DOS and
  48. CDtsr(TM), a memory resident CD player.  This program allows DOS users, who are
  49. running text based programs, to pop up a CD handset similar to that contained
  50. in CDPlayer.  This is very handy for pausing the CD to take a phone call,
  51. carrying on with your current application and then resuming play by popping up
  52. the handset a second time.  Also for playing a new CD without having to close
  53. down your current application.

  57. INSTALLATION
  58.  
  59. To install CDPlayer, follow the instructions in INSTALL.WIN.

  61. NO MANUAL!

  63. This not normally distributed with the evaluation programs - a copy of
  64. the text is provided on the disk in a file called MANUAL.WIN.  This file
  65. may be printed by typing:

  67.      PRINT A:MANUAL.WIN
  68.  
  69.      or
  70.  
  71.      COPY A:MANUAL.WIN LPT1:
  72.  
  73.      (where A: and LPT1: are replaced with the disk drive and printer port
  74.      you are using)

  76. Please print the contents of LICENCE.TXT before proceeding.

  78. You may order a registered copy of the programs by completing the order form
  79. (ORDER.FRM) and returning it to Jupiter Software.  Registration brings you a
  80. registered copy of the latest releases of:

  86. You will also receive a printed manual and placed on our mailing list for
  87. notification of upgrades and new products.

  90. you are entitled to make use of our support service.  Registered users are
  91. provided with free support for the period that they continue using the
  92. programs.
