  18.   Installation Instructions
  19.  
  20.       Note: You may use Windows 3.0 if you have installed VER.DLL,
  21.             COMMDLG.DLL and WINHELP.EXE (V3.1) in your Windows
  22.             directories. These can be supplied if needed.

  24.       1. Backup your BioGraf distribution diskette/ZIP file before you
  25.          install BioGraf.
  26.  
  27.          You can do this by using the MS-DOS DISKCOPY command if you
  28.          received BioGraf on a diskette, or by using the MS-DOS COPY
  29.          command if you received BioGraf in some other way - such as from
  30.          a bulletin board etc. For more information on using either of
  31.          these commands, please refer to your MS-DOS User's Guide.

  33.       2. Place the backup copy of your BioGraf diskette into your
  34.          computer's floppy drive and choose RUN from the Program Manager
  35.          FILE menu (or its equivalent if you are using a different shell).
  36.  
  37.       3. Type A:\INSTALL (or B:\INSTALL) and click on OK in the FILE/RUN
  38.          dialog box.
  39.  
  40.       4. Follow the installation instructions on the the screen.
  41.  
  42.       Note: Please keep BIOGRAF.EXE, BIOGRAF.DAT and BIOGRAF.HLP in the
  43.             same directory, and do not rename any of these files.

  45.   Running BioGraf
  46.  
  47.       Start BioGraf by double-clicking on the BioGraf icon in Program
  48.       Manager (or its equivalent) to run the program. Once BioGraf has
  49.       started up, you should be able to use the People command to set up a
  50.       personal biorhythm display.
  51.  
  52.   A Note on the Iconized Display
  53.  
  54.       One of BioGraf's many features is its dynamic iconized display,
  55.       which shows the current state of your biorhythms. This iconized
  56.       display is NOT the same as the icon that sits in Program Manager
  57.       (or its equivalent) before the program is running.

  60.       To get the iconized display, start BioGraf as usual, then click
  61.       on the minimize button in the top right hand corner of the window.
  62.  
  63.       If you exit from BioGraf while the display is minimized, then the
  64.       program will start up in an iconized state again next time you use
  65.       it. If you don't want it to start up in a minimized state, simply
  66.       make sure you exit from it while it's not minimized.

  68.   On-line Help and the User's Guide
  69.  
  70.       BioGraf uses the Windows Help system to provide on-line information
  71.       as and when you need it. This information, although concise, is
  72.       ideal for jogging your memory on specific commands. When you
  73.       register BioGraf, you will receive a full 38-page printed and bound
  74.       User's Guide, with a special section discussing the nature and
  75.       meaning of biorhythms.
  76.  
  77.       You can get help in BioGraf by clicking on the Help button, or by
  78.       typing <H>.
  79.  
  80.       There is also a quicker way to get help: press the <F1> key, or
  81.       click the right mouse button. This will normally take you straight
  82.       to the main index, but if you are in a dialog box or status window,
  83.       it will give you help related to what you are doing.

  85.   Installation Error Messages
  86.  
  87.       THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX IS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION, BUT COULD NOT BE
  88.       FOUND, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.
  89.         Contact your support provider, or the author at the address
  90.         given at the beginning of this file.

  92.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS NOT ABLE TO CREATE THE DIRECTORY XXXXXX.
  93.         Please check that you have specified a valid disk letter, and
  94.         that the syntax is correct.

  96.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX,
  97.       WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

  101.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO SET UP THE PROGRAM MANAGER

  118.       THERE IS INSUFFICIENT FREE SPACE ON YOUR DISK DRIVE TO COMPLETE
  119.       THE INSTALLATION.
  120.         Delete some unwanted files and then try again.

  122.       THIS COPY OF BIOGRAF HAS EXPIRED
  123.         Unregistered copies of BioGraf will display this message about
  124.         18 months after release. This alerts you to the possibility that
  125.         you are not using the latest version containing the most recent
  126.         improvements and new features. The program will continue to
  127.         function normally, but you are advised to get a more up-to-date
  128.         copy.

  130.         Registered copies of BioGraf do not display this message. When
  131.         you register your copy of BioGraf you will automatically
  132.         receive details of all subsequent major releases.
  133.  
  134.       YOUR SYSTEM DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE A VALID COPY OF VER.DLL,
  135.       WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

  165.       * a precise description of the problem, and the circumstances
  166.         that cause it to occur.

  168.   Registering BioGraf
  169.  
  170.       The evaluation period for an unregistered copy of BioGraf starts
  171.       at the time it is first installed, and lasts 30 days. After this
  172.       time, you must either register it (use the form below), or delete
  173.       it from your system. If you prefer, you may register BioGraf
  174.       online on CompuServe Information Service. Just GO SWREG and
  175.       follow the instructions. The registration ID for BioGraf is 195.
