- BBS's to the MAX (BBSMAX)
- ============================
- Support BBS for BBSMAX is:
- Jim's Nuclear Powered BBS
- 316-364-8536
- ==============
-
- What is BBS's to the MAX? BBSMAX includes everything other BBS listings
- have left out. There are many free ways to list your BBS, one is to call
- with your modem (Long Distance) at least every three months to keep your
- listing updated. The main problem is that it may take 6 months to get it
- listed and by then the information is usually out of date. It is free,
- but the call's for the 4 or more updates most certainly are not! This
- same listing also does not in reality even scrape the total amount of
- BBS'ers or Modem Junkies like myself, that are just waiting to hear of a
- new BBS, or even of the BBS that produces and supports the games, or
- other software that they spend all night playing, or uploading to other
- BBS's to fullfill their File Ratio needs. (Very helpfull to the many
- Author and support BBS's that depend on their files being spread Nation
- or even World Wide).
-
- I have seen many local area listings, regional area listings, and a few
- national listings floating around which may or may not charge the BBS to
- be included, but they all seem to have lacked in describing fully what
- the BBS'ers wanted to know about the BBS's File Area's, On-Line games,
- and whether or not there were any Adult Files available to them on the
- BBS.
-
- BBS's to the MAX, has included most everything a user could possibly
- want to know about your BBS. You may describe three specific fields
- in more detail in your listings. such as what files or software your
- BBS has in Beta Testing, or even which software your BBS supports.
-
- The following describes all the fields covered by BBSMAX. If you feel
- that there is a field that would compliment BBSMAX, please by all means
- let me know, and we will see about adding it.
-
- *The first will be the main access number to your BBS,
- the numbers will be in order of Area Codes and then by the City.
- Here is a little catch worth noting, the first BBS that applies to
- BBSMAX in a specific city will always remain First and second to apply
- will be second listed and so on.
- *The (@) field right behind a number indicates that nodes Top Baud Rate,
- You may have a total of five Public access nodes listed (another plus)
- behind the main number, each includes that nodes Top Baud Rate.
- *Amount of files available will be listed under the Main Number.
- --All Baud Rates Must Be Actual Carrier Speeds Only! 2400, 9600, 14400 ect.
- *The (C) will be the main CPU files Carried ( I= IBM and compatible, M= Mac,
- A= Amiga, ect) I will add any not listed, that you support.
- *The (N) is your boards total number of Nodes (Public and Private).
- *The (P) is the total number of Public Nodes.
- *The (S) is the total number of Subscriber or Private (Non-Public) Nodes.
- *The (MEG) is the total number of MEG (not Gig) On-Line, including CD-ROM's.
- *The (CD) is a Yes or No indicator of The BBS having CD-ROM's.
- *The (#) is the total On-Line CD Drives available (enter 6 for a Multi 6 ).
- *The (R) is a Yes or No if your BBS Rotates any CD-Rom Disks.
- *The (ASP) is a Y or N for a BBS registered with The A.S.P.
- ASP is a registered trade mark of the Association of ShareWare Professionals
- *The (HRS) is the total hours per day the BBS is On-Line.
- *The (B) indicates a BBS has a Beta Test area for software products, Y or N.
- *The (A) indicates an Authors or Software Support BBS, Y or N.
- *The (V) indicates a Visiting SYSOP area or conference available, Y or N.
- *The (X) indicates an Adult File Area is available on the BBS, Y or N.
- *The (O) indicates On-Line games available on the BBS, Y or N.
- *The (T) indicates there is a Trail Membership available by amount of days.
- *The (%) is the nuber of files a user may DL before an Upload(File Ratio).
- *The ($) indicates a Support or Subscription membership is available. Y or N
- *The (U) indicates use of an Upload Processor on the BBS. Y or N.
- *The (Z) indicates Z Modem Protocol is available.
- *The (2) indicates a Two way Protocol is available.
- *The (M) indicates Message Bases, Mailers, Networks ect. (For details on
- your Messages ect. make a "M =" in the application)
-
- Each BBS listing includes eight total lines. See the BBSMAX00.LST file
- for an example. The first release will be BBSMAX01.LST, it will be a
- monthly issue until it is so large that it must be broken down to be able
- to get it around. Then there will be a complete issue every 3 or 6 months
- with All the BBS's listings included, But there will always be a monthly
- issue with the new or updated BBS listings included.
-
- Each listing will have three areas in which to fully describe the BBS
- You may use any of the fields above. For an example "#" is the Number of
- Cd Drives On-Line so you could have an entry describing the disks like:
- # = NightBird 8, NightBird 9, and Visual Graphics. For "O" you could have
- ( O = Land of Floods,) which tells which Door Games you have. or you could
- just put what ever you wish in the three lines
-
- There is a Main Interest Line to add what the main file interests are.
- For example (Main Interest = Large Adult File Area).
-
- Then there is the name of the SysOp.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- To be included in the first issue fill out the SYSOP.APP file and
- send it in with the fee to the address at the end of the application.
-
- Fees are $10.00 for One year of listings.
- $ 5.00 for an Update.
-
- This seems very reasonable for one year, probably less than the free
- listings cost you in Phone Charges alone. And its for a full year.
- If you have a NewUser Questionaire, add the line asking where they
- heard about Your BBS and see for yourself if it is worth another year.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
- end of file.
