  1.                           APPT APPOINTMENT MINDER
  2.                                 QUICK SETUP
  3. APPT Appointment Minder retrieves your appointments from your data file, and
  4. presents your appointments starting with the first occurrence of today's date.
  5. This file explains how to get APPT Appointment Minder up and running--quickly.
  6. You should, however, read APPT.DOC to fully understand APPT.

  8. Put APPT.COM in your root directory, type APPT and press [Enter].  Assuming
  9. that you've not created the data file APPT.DAT, you will receive an error
  10. stating that APPT can not find your appointments, and you will be prompted
  11. to press any key.  Press any key.  APPT will have created APPT.DAT, an empty 
  12. data file.  Again, type APPT [Enter] and you will meet APPT.  Although you 
  13. have no appointments logged, you may press [F5] to start the internal editor.  
  14. Now enter some text, including today's date in MM-DD format.  Be sure to 
  15. place the date in the first five positions on a line--THIS IS ESSENTIAL.  Go 
  16. ahead and enter text before and after today's date; this will allow you to 
  17. see how APPT works.

  19. Now press [F9] to save your new data file.  When the checkmark appears beside 
  20. the [F9], press [Esc] to exit the editor and [F10] to exit APPT.  Now you 
  21. are ready to run APPT to see it at work.  I hope you find APPT useful.
