  1. Niagara Falls is two waterfalls on the
  2. Niagara River, on the Canada-USA border, 
  3. between lakes Erie and Ontario and separated 
  4. by Goat Island. The American Falls are 51m 
  5. (167ft) high, 330m (1,080ft) wide.

  7. To the west of the American Falls lie
  8. the Horseshoe or Canadian Falls- a much more
  9. spectacular sight-176ft(54m) in height with a 
  10. crest of 2,200ft(675m) over which pour 90%
  11. of the total volume of water, at a rate of 
  12. about 200,000 cubic feet per second.
