  1. The Koala is a nocturnal MARSUPIAL native to
  2. Australia. Bearlike in appearance, it has
  3. thick, grey fur, a tailess body 2 to 2½ ft
  4. (60 to 75cm) long, a black nose and large
  5. fury ears. Its diet consists of only one
  6. species of eucalyptus (The Gum tree) at a
  7. particular stage of maturation. The koala has
  8. been hunted for food and fur and is now
  9. endangered.
