  1. A guerrilla is an irregular soldier fighting 
  2. in a small unofficial unit, typically against 
  3. an established or occupying power, and 
  4. engaging in sabotage, ambush, and the like, 
  5. rather than pitched battles against an 
  6. opposing army. Guerrilla tactics have been 
  7. used both by resistance armies in wartime 
  8. (eg: the Vietnam War) and in peacetime by 
  9. national liberation groups and militant 
  10. political extremists (eg: the PLO, Tamil 
  11. Tigers).
