  1. A giraffe is the world's tallest MAMMAL, 
  2. Giraffa camelopardalis, belonging to the 
  3. ruminant family Giraffidae. It stands over 
  4. 5½m (18ft) tall, the neck accounting for 
  5. nearly half this amount. The giraffe has 
  6. two to four small, skin-covered, hornlike 
  7. structures on its head and a long, tufted 
  8. tail.
