  1. A genetic disease is any disorder caused at 
  2. least partly by defective genes or 
  3. chromosomes. In humans there are some 3,000 
  4. genetic diseases, including CYSTIC_FIBROSIS, 
  5. DOWN'S_SYNDROME, HAEMOPHILIA, Huntington's 
  6. chorea, some forms of anaemia, SPINA_BIFIDA, 
  7. and Tay-Sachs disease.
