Gay politics is a political activity by
homosexuals in pursuit of equal rights and an
end to discrimination. A gay political
movement first emerged in the late 1960s in
New York with the founding of the Gay
Liberation Front (GLF). It aimed to counter
negative and critical attitudes to
homosexuality and encouraged pride and
solidarity among homosexuals.
