A fruitfly is a Small winged INSECT, in the
order Diptera. Fruitflies lay their eggs in
plant tissue. In some species the larvae feed
directly on fruit pulp, in others, they feed
on yeasts growing in the fruit. Some species
cause damage to important crops.
