Frogs are an AMPHIBIAN. This means that they
can live both on land and in water. Frogs are
found all over the world except in very cold
lands that are always frozen. There are
hundreds of different kinds of frogs.
The biggest of the frogs is the Goliath frog
of central Africa, this particular frog can
weigh over 3kg and can measure upto 30cm in
length. The smallest is the tree frog from
the US, which is less than 2cm long.
Frogs breathe through their skin aswell as
their LUNGS. It is important that they keep
their skins wet, because if the skin becomes
too dry they die. Common frogs feed on
insects, grubs and slugs. They catch their
food with their long tongues. A frog can
flick its tongue out in in 100th of a second.
Larger frogs eat snakes, small animals and
other frogs, as well as insects.
