A colic is a spasmodic attack of pain in the
abdomen, usually coming in waves. Colicky
pains are caused by the painful muscular
contraction and subsequent distension of a
hollow organ, eg: the bowels, gall bladder
(biliary colic), or ureter (renal colic).
