  3. Industries include oil refining,
  4. shipbuilding, and the manufacture of
  5. electrical goods and cars. Grain, wool,
  6. fruit, and wine are exported. Founded in
  7. 1836, Adelaide was named after William IV's
  8. queen. It is a fine example of town
  9. planning, with residential districts
  10. separated from the commercial area by the
  11. river Torrens, dammed to form a lake.
  12. Impressive streets include King William
  13. Street and North Terrace, and fine buildings
  14. include Parliament House, Government House,
  15. the Anglican cathedral of St Peter, the Roman
  16. Catholic cathedral, two universities, the
  17. State observatory, and the museum and art
  18. gallery.

  21. Daughter of the Duke of Saxe-Meiningen, she
  22. married William, then Duke of Clarence, in
  23. 1818. No children of the marriage survived
  24. infancy.
