  20. The ZyXEL Internet Configuration Manager is a MS-Windows(TM) application
  21. that runs in conjunction with the ZyXEL ISDN Product.
  22.  
  23. This application will allow you to configure your ZyXEL ISDN series
  24. Terminal Adapter(TA) without using any terminal program.
  25.  
  26. Although this is only optional to the user.  You can still use any
  27. terminal program(i.e. Telix) to configure your ZyXEL ISDN product by
  28. issuing the commands directly to this product.

  33. ZyXEL CAPI MS-Windows drivers
  34. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  35. They are ZyXEL CAPI DLLs for Microsoft Windows.
  36. They include two 16-bit DLL files (CAPI.DLL and CAPI20.DLL), one 32-bit
  37. DLL file(CAPI2032.DLL), two 16-bit execution files(ZyCAPI.EXE and
  38. ZyCAPI20.EXE), one 32-bit execution file(ZyCAPI32.EXE) and one initial
  39. information file(ZyCAPI.INI).

  41. This vesrion of CAPI includes the following features:
  42.   1. Supports 16-bit and 32-bit DLLs for 16-bit and 32-bit CAPI
  43.      applications.
  44.   2. Supports up to a maximum of 4 applications API_REGISTRE
  45.      at the same time.
  46.   3. Supports X.75/Trans, X.75/T.70NL, bit transparent, and ISO 8208
  47.      protocols.
  48.   4. Supports the Multiple Subscriber Numbers (MSNs) to EAZ mapping.
  49.      (Only for CAPI 1.1, profile A driver, incoming call)

  51. System Requirements:
  52.  
  53.   ZyXEL CAPI DLL requires the following minimum configuration:
  54.  
  55.   1. IBM Personal Computer or 100% compatible.
  56.   2. 386 or better processor.
  57.   3. Serial port supports 16550 UART
  58.   4. ZyXEL Elite 2864I (D) ISDN Modem, or ZyXEL Omni TA128
  59.      Terminal Adapter.
  60.   5. Microsoft Windows 3.1 running in enhanced mode,
  61.      Microsoft Windows for Workgroup version 3.11,
  62.      Microsoft Windows 95, or Windows NT.
  63.  
  64.      The ZyCAPI.INI is used to setup serial port parameters.
  65.      ZyXEL CAPI automatically detects which communication port is
  66.      connected to your ZyXEL ISDN product and sets the DTE rate to
  67.      115200 (default).

  81.   2. You can run your 16/32-bit CAPI application software after you have
  82.      installed ZyXEL CAPI.  The ZyCAPI.EXE(ZyCAPI20.EXE or ZyCAPI32.EXE)
  83.      will execute automatically when the CAPI.DLL(CAPI20.DLL or
  84.      CAPI2032.DLL) is loaded by the Windows system.

  86.   3. Once all CAPI applications are complete close the ZyCAPI.EXE or
  87.      ZyCAPI20.EXE (titled ZyXEL CAPI or ZyXEL CAPI 2.0).

  89.   4. You can setup the Multiple Subscriber Numbers (MSNs) to EAZ mapping
  90.      for your ZyXEL ISDN product in the ZyXEL CAPI application
  91.      (ZyCAPI.EXE).  MSN0 is mapped to global call, MSN1 is mapped to EAZ1,
  92.      MSN2 is mapped EAZ2, ...etc.

  96. Internet Configuration Manager and ZyXEL CAPI Installation
  97. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  98. You can find a Setup program in this floppy disk. It will install all
  99. the necessary components into your personal computer.  You can install
  100. the ZyXEL Internet Configuration Manager and ZyXEL CAPI through the
  101. following procedure:
  102.  
  103. 1.  Place the this floppy disk into the floppy disk driver.
  104.  
  105. 2.  Use the File Manager to run SETUP.EXE, or select RUN from the File
  106.     menu and type A:\Setup.exe and press OK(A: is the disk driver
  107.     which you place the floppy disk).
  108.  
  109. 3.  Setup prompts you with a Welcome dialog box and ask you what directory
  110.     you want to install the Configuration manager.  The default directory is
  111.     C:\ZyXEL\ZyConfig.  You can change it by edit a new directory into the
  112.     edit box.  When you accept the directory path in the edit box,
  113.     click the OK button.

  115. 4.  Now the Setup program copy all necessary files into the directory which
  116.     is accepted by the step 3.
  117.  
  118. 5.  When the installation is complete, a question dialog box appears to
  119.     tell you this fact and end this installation.

  122. INF File Installation
  123. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  124. Before installing a INF file to your operating system you must
  125. determine the following:
  126.  
  127.  (1) What operating system you use (eg. Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.51)
  128.  (2) Model of your ZyXEL product (eg. Elite 286I or Omni TA128)
  129.  (3) If you use ISDN you must determine which protocol is being used
  130.      (eg. X.75 or async PPP HDLC)
  131.  
  132.  
  133. Next determine the correct directory for installation. This will depend
  134. on which operating system and model you use. In most cases just copy the
  135. INF file to your \INF directory and add a new MODEM to your system.
  136. However, to guarantee successful installation read the following thoroughly
  137. before proceeding. Please note that WINDOWS\INF directory maybe is a hidden
  138. directory.

  149. We provide a utility "Internet Configuration Manager". This utility will
  150. allow for easier connection to the Internet. If you use this utility while
  151. installing a new modem you must select the model "Internet Configuration
  152. Manager".
