  16. If  you are using a harddrive the best thing to do is drag the whole BPaint
  17. draw  onto  your "WORK" partition, it will then run by double-clicking it's
  18. icon  and  print using your harddrive prefs.  Not everyone owns a harddrive
  19. so the disk is also autobooting, slip it into your internal drive DF0:  and
  20. turn  on the power, after a short while you'll be looking at a black screen
  21. with  a  load  of buttons at the bottom, most of these buttons are straight
  22. forward:

  25.         LOAD    - Opens a requester to select and load a picture.
  26.         SAVE    - Opens a requester to select and save a picture.
  27.         DELETE  - Opens a requester to select and delete a picture.
  28.         PALETTE - Allows you to adjust the colour palette, click the
  29.                   button and the standard palette slider will appear,
  30.                   select a colour from the palette bar running along
  31.                   the centre of the screen and move the sliders.
  32.         PRINT   - Prints the current screen.
  33.         FONTS   - Opens a requester to select the font to be used,
  34.                   "Bitmap" or "iff" and then choose a font.
  35.         SPARE   - Opens and flips to a spare screen.
  36.         SHOW    - Displays the whole screen.
  37.         FLIP-H  - Flips the whole screen horizontally.
  38.         FLIP-V  - Flips the whole screen vertically.
  39.         QUIT    - ????
  40.         FORMAT  - Selects the screen mode.
  41.         ABOUT   - Displays version number.
  42.         TOOLS   - Moves to the tools menu buttons.

  45. You  can  move from the "TOOLS" menu to the "PICTURE" menu at any time, the
  46. menu  currently selected is shown in the top left-hand corner.  The "TOOLS"
  47. menu  is  a  little  more  complicated, but again is setout like most paint
  48. programs.   The  colour palette is shown at the top and the selected colour
  49. is  highlighted by a small box.  Below the palette are the built-in brushes
  50. and paint modes.  I'll just mention one or two of the special features:

  53.         PATTERN - Selects one of the built-in patterns for filling
  54.                   objects. To test, select the button and then a
  55.                   pattern from the display and press USE. If you now
  56.                   select SOLID and CIRCLE, the circle will auto-fill
  57.                   with the pattern.

  59.         CLEAR   - This button clears the current screen, to use it
  60.                   select CLEAR and a requester will appear to check
  61.                   if you want to proceed, click YES and the mouse
  62.                   pointer will move to the palette bar. Click on any
  63.                   colour and the screen will clear to that colour.

  66. DRAWING

  69. Use  the  left  mouse button (LMB) to select tools and to move from menu to
  70. menu.   When a tool is selected move to the drawing area, start drawing and
  71. the menu will disappear leaving only the palette bar, use the LMB to change
  72. colours.  To return to the menu simply press the Right Mouse Button (RMB).

  75. VIDEO PRESENTER WIPES

  78. When  you  create  a  picture and wish to use it in a sequence to produce a
  79. video  intro,  it  must  be  saved  under  a special name, which allows the
  80. program to load it when required eg:

  89. In the above example the image will "Wipe IN" with 08 and "Wipe OUT" with 09,
  90. below is a list of all the video wipe codes.

  131. These quick docs have been cobbled together by Phil of SaddleTramps PD on a
  132. very VERY hot day in August, please don't blame Portia Software if I've got
  133. it a bit wrong.  Belles Paint is a great little paint package with that bit
  134. extra  added which makes it stand out from the crowd, I've not been able to
  135. do justice to the pattern feature so please don't be afraid to experiment a
  136. little.
