  3. Firstly, congratulations on loading this document. You are obviously a
  4. person of taste.

  6. I can see you're just dying to know what Amiga Interactive Guide is 
  7. aren't you. Well it's the answer to all your dreams (probably). Yes! 
  8. It's a complete replacement AmigaGuide document providing even more 
  9. detail about the Amiga and Workbench. It has all the things that you 
  10. ever wanted to know about Amiga and probably some you didn't.

  15. A complete guide to Workbench menus, commands, directories and more!!
  16. Quite a large guide to Operating Systems!!

  20. INSTALLATION
  21.  
  22. To use the installation script you must boot from the device you
  23. wish to install it to. If this is not possible then you can either
  24. manually install using the directions below or make a HELP: assign
  25. to the Locale/Help/ drawer on your chosen installation device.
  26.  
  27. If you want to read the document before you install it simply load 
  28. the AmigaGuide.Guide file into your favourite AmigaGuide viewer 
  29. (Multiview, AmigaGuide etc). However,you will not be able to use the 
  30. search function.

  32. This document will be most use to you if you have Workbench 3+. If 
  33. you are using OS2.0 then it may not install properly. However, as 
  34. mentioned you can simply read it using your favourite viewer.

  36. REQUIREMENTS
  37.  
  38. SearchGuide in the C: directory.
  39. An AmigaGuide compatible viewer.
  40. As much memory as possible, otherwise the links may be a bit slow to 
  41. use.
  42. Workbench 3 to install the guide
  43.  
  44. HYPERGUIDE
  45.  
  46. If you have HyperGuide installed permanently AiG will function 
  47. far better as the external links will work. Create a drawer in your 
  48. boot device called AiGStart. You will now be able to access that 
  49. directory from the guide using the Directory datatype. This will allow
  50. you to load any guides or pictures stored there. Trust me its 
  51. brilliant.

  53. INSTALLATION
  54.  
  55. I have included a simple script to install the files instead of a 
  56. proper Installer because:
  57. A)I don't know how to make Installer files yet.
  58. B)I have A level exams in June (next Tuesday in fact), so I really 
  59. need to do some revision.

  61. If you are installing these files manually the AmigaGuide.Guide file 
  62. needs to be copied to HELP:English/Sys/ and the original 
  63. AmigaGuide.Guide needs to be renamed AmigaGuide.Old.

  65. Read the actual guide file for copyright and restrictions. 
  66. If you have any suggestions write to the address in the guide.
