  5. Hi one and all to the latest edition of G-Lock.
  6. Possibly the best Password alternative prog-
  7.  
  8. Well its half way through 97, I've just finished school-
  9. and I am feeling great- so i have gave G-Lock V2.0 a few 
  10. touch ups here and there- so what do you think?

  12. Anyway anyone who would like to give ideas, suggestions, hints
  13. Pics, Mods, support ,financial backing (HINT) and just to say
  14. hi- (please no letters to tell me where to put my keyboard!)

  34. included. The Installer may be changed to suit complimations-
  35.  P.D. houses please distribute this prog freely as you 
  36. choose- However if you put it on any kind of popular complimation
  37. i want to know about it (call it pride!) Oh yeah and keep the price
  38. In the P.D. range!! After all whats P.D. if it aint cheap?
  39. Oh Yeah I can accept no responsibility for peoples computers 
  40. running off with Elvis, whilst signing happy Christmas naked on a 
  41. moonlight night as they set each other on fire-
  42. And if you lose your password- its your own fault- see bottom of 
  43. docs to see how to bypass prog!

  45. What is G-lock?
  46. ----------------
  47. G-LockV2.2 is the second (well actually 4 th including updated 
  48. versions) in my series of password alternatives.
  49. Most password progs are formal and dull creatures- i haven't seen 
  50. one in which I would show to my friends-
  51. So I designed, made and done a better one-
  52. Its just as secure as the rest (well sorry some do strip your
  53. hardrive of important files, which means if the installer dont
  54. work you have to spend hours trying to fix the prob!)
  55. Well G-Lock is as secure as it gets without altering your 
  56. hardrive too much- Which means if anything does go wrong (never 
  57. happened!) its only a few dos commands and a click away!
  58. Oh yeah it plays music, samples and has a damm good mod in the 
  59. background.
  60. It is quite simply FAB- I love you will love it-

  63. Okay its cool, its funky; but how secure?

  65. Lets put it this way- Unless someone is a pretty good at dos,
  66. has a version of workbench lying around, and is a bit of a whiz
  67. they dont stand a chance. If you delete it from Wbstartup-
  68. It copies it self back!
  69. If you delete every single file in the G-Lock dir-
  70. it will copy itself back in, with the same password as you left
  71. before someone tried to delete it.
  72. Infact the only real way to delete the prog for good is to use 
  73. the deinstall prog provided- called nuts (because you must be 
  74. nuts to use it!).

  76. Ah what about the password then- how do i change it?

  78. Okay get a pen and a piece of paper-
  79. Okay good- now draw a......
  80. Sorry-
  81. Ahem-
  82. Okay to get into the menu, run the prog (aint it great?)
  83. and when it asks for password type "menu"
  84. once you have done this you will be presented with a menu screen.
  85. (funnily enough!)
  86. They are various options available- for example credits, help 
  87. screen, and change password.
  88. Pick change password one..
  89. It will ask you do you wish to proceed, type y or yes.
  90. It will then ask you for the old password- if you just got the 
  91. prog its Glock.
  92. Okay when it asks you to insert new password PLEASE REMEMBER to 
  93. use only a password which is NO and NO LESS than 5 letters.
  94. The reason for this is because of a stupid Amos routine.
  95. So a password like Help would be acceptable-
  96. however ronnie for example wouldn't-
  97. If you did put ronnie in the password would be the first 5 
  98. letters thus it would be "ronni".

  100. REMEMBER SPACES COUNT AS A LETTER- SO IF YOU WANT TO USE A FOUR
  101. LETTER PASSWORD SIMPLY TYPE YOUR PASSWORD FOLLOWED BY A SPACE 
  102. WHEN ENTERING IT-
  103. Its stupid I know. But I cant get around it- Guess who's moving 
  104. to Blitz Basic!

  106. What happens if I forget my password?

  108. You numpty-
  109. Then i guess you are doomed to listen to my Dont do it again 
  110. screen forever!
  111. Shame really.

  113. Okay just kidding- You can delete G-Lock if your armed with your 
  114. workbench disk.
  115. Okay load from floppy WB.
  116. Then go into shell once it has loaded and type-
  117. assign sys: <partition name i.e. dh0>:
  118. example-
  119. assign sys: dh0:
  120. then-
  121. assign c: sys:c
  122. assign s: sys:s

  124. Once you have done this- come out of shell.
  125. Go into your workbench partition and find G-lockv2.2-
  126. It is hidden- so you will have to do a show all.
  127. Go into this drawer and execute Nuts 2.2-
  128. It will ask you some questions (like why are you nuts?)
  129. and will proceed to delete the prog-
  130. Not simple- But secure-
  131. its better this than all of your C commands missing!

  163. The Amiga was once the world leader.
  164. Everyone had one, or knew someone that had one.
  165. It had left the St and all other companies in the shadow.
  166. However Commodore made a few mistakes and now there's a
  167. chance that the Amiga may never recover.
  168. However this doesnt need to be the case.
  169. The Amiga is a damn good computer- If not the best-
  170. Sure software isnt exactly floading in, sure moral
  171. is bad- and perhaps the Amiga wont be able to rise again.
  172. But me personaly Im going to wait for the return-
  173. The Amiga is a survivor- and always will be-
  174. It is the only computer in the world that isnt supported by
  175. company's- but rather the respect and loyality each one of her
  176. users give her. Perhaps that is all that she needs.
  177. However, im gojng to wait the the return- Which im sure will
  178. happen- after all the Amiga has been doing for years that
  179. P.C's are only catching up on!!!

  181. If a new Amiga is to come around- perhaps it shouldnt be called
  182. the Amiga 1300 or whatever- but rather the Amiga phoenix-
  183. A legendary bird that can be killed- but always rises from the
  184. flames a fresh and strong as ever.

  190. Keep the dream alive- dont let the Amiga become the 90's 
  191. spectrum- And dont die out like other Amiga mags-
  192. You are all that remains from the once market leader-
  193. Stick with it- It will reward you one day-

  195. Besides P.C. owners may laugh at the decline of our machine-
  196. Theirs decline the min they buy them- As long as P.C. owners are 
  197. gullible to be continually ripped off for the "Latest technology" 
  198. they will keep the P.C. alive, but keep killing the machines-
  199. Its a vicious circle- and Intel and IBm have them where they want 
  200. them-
