Fix68010

This all started after I installed the 68010 into my Amiga. I found
that some programs would not run! And worst of all, they gave GURU
errors. Well, this pissed me off to no end, especially considering that
the RKM has, at the very beginning of the manual, a warning not to use a
particular OP CODE, so as to be compatible with the 68010.
Finally, I got my hands onto a program called DECIGEL. This was a very
nice program, load it, and it wedges itself into the system. It scans
for chip errors, and if its the one caused by the bad op, voila, this
program would fix the problem. No more GURUS!
Well, I was happy for a while, as long as one can be happy with a
stopgap measure such as DECIGEL, but it worked, so I stayed with it.
Until one day I tried out the Transformer. Lo and behold, it did not
work, not even if DECIGEL was installed! Now that really pissed me off,
so a decision had to be made, was I going to live without the
Transformer, or do I attempt the fix.
As you can see, I decided on the Fix, here is Fix68010 for your use. It
goes into the code and actually changes the bad code to the correct
code. It has worked on everything I have tried it on, even the
transformer. Its quick, about 75K from disk to disk in about 15
seconds.
Many thanks to Richie Bielak for his GetImage program, theres no way I
could have punched in all the numbers for the image on top, oh by the
way, thats a gadget too!
Its also a pretty good demo of gadgets and handling IDCMPFlags.
So use it, hope it works, and learn from it. Use the code as you will,
but don't use the Gadget imagery, that's mine.
Let me know how you like it, I'm not asking for money [unless you feel
like it :-) ]. Just write me, let me know how it goes, let me know of
any bugs, please!!
