Welcome to LockIt V1.1, a pair of programs that allow you to lock your
Workbench using a password. LockIt V1.1 is highly configurable and provides
useful features such as alarm, case sensitive checking and upto 50 letters
for the name and password.

@{b} Installing LockIt V1.1 and UNLockIt V1.1@{ub}
The most important program is UNLockIt V1.1, and needs to be placed in your
C: directory on your Workbench/Boot disk NOT in the WbStartup drawer.
The LockIt program could go anywhere (it doesn`t even need to be on your Workbench disk), I would suggest your System drawer as a good place for it.
You will also need to edit your User-Startup sequence when the program is in
your C: directory. Just add the line:
UNLOCKITV1.1
This needs to go @{u}before@{uu} any other programs are executed, if
possible, before Workbench is started.
Before you can use UNLockIt, you need to @{"setup" Link Setup} your name,
password, and other options.

@node Setup
@{b} Setting-Up LockIt V1.1@{ub}
You need to run LockIt V1.1 (double click on its icon) before you can use
the UNLockIt program to password protect your Workbench.
@{b} Your Name@{ub}
You need to enter your name in the box (marked Name). You can have anything
upto 50 characters long, but try to avoid using spaces, punctuation or
numbers, as this will just confuse matters.
@{b} Your Password@{ub}
Your password can be anything you want, again the same restrictions apply as
with your name. Try not to enter the same password as your name, as this is
very easy to crack! Enter something simple and easy to remember, and you
can`t go far wrong.
@{b} No. of tries@{ub}
Enter the number of tries you can have when entering the password in
UNLockIt V1.1. The default is three, but you can enter anything between 1
and 99.
@{b} Case Sensitive@{ub}
If you want UNLockIt V1.1 to check your name/password letter for letter,
then set this box to on. See the help topic, @{"Case" Link Case} for more
information.
@{b} Alarm@{ub}
Set this to on if you want the alarm to sound when you use up all of your
tries, otherwise the program will go into an endless loop and you will need
to reset your computer and try again.

seems to work fine.

@{"contact me" Link Contact} and let me know!
I would also appreciate it if you would @{"register" Link Contact} with me. Its free; all I
want is a postcard from you with your name, address (Normal & E-Mail)

Version Notes
V1.0 Never released properly, and was very basic. No bugs, but
was basically a building block.
V1.1 This version comes with a new interface, better code, new
options and the Amiga Guide manual.
V1.2+ I am actively updating both programs and hope to include a
userlog, multiple users and a system to remind you to change
your password.

@node WB
Which version of Workbench are you using?
LockIt V1.1 was developed on a WB3.1 A1200, and tested on a WB 2.0 A500.
It @{b} WILL NOT WORK ON ANYTHING LESS THAN WB 2.0!!@{ub}.
If the display looks odd, but you can still use the program, it is likely
that you are using a different screenmode or font (I stick to Hi-res with a
topaz font). Either change your font/screenmode, or stick it out!

@node case
Have you got the @{i}Case Sensitive@{ui} box on?
You may need to type the name/p`word @{u}EXACTLY@{uu} as you entered it
in boxes when you set your name/p`word up. For example, if you entered your
name as Brian, and then set the Case Sens checkbox to on (with a checkmark
in it), then UNLockIt would only except your name as Brian and not brian,
BRIAN or even BRiaN.
Of course, you can switch off the case sensitive option and enter your name
