  41.         |   The Acorn Replay CD-ROM Demonstration Disc is intended to          |
  42.         |   introduce you to Acorn Replay and to show you some of the          |
  43.         |   applications which now use full-motion video and audio, without    |
  44.         |   the need for expensive add-on hardware.                            |
  45.         |                                                                      |
  46.         |   The CD contains the following applications and resources:          |
  47.         |                                                                      |
  48.         |   - Uniqueway                                                        |
  49.         |     This application gives you a series of screens describing the    |
  50.         |     development of video technology, and the service provided by     |
  51.         |     Uniqueway Ltd for the creation of Movies from video source.      |
  52.         |                                                                      |
  53.         |   - DOLW - Dictionary of the Living World                            |
  54.         |     This is a small demonstration version of Media Design            |
  55.         |     Interactive's CD-ROM product: Dictionary of the Living World.    |
  56.         |     The full product has over 100 full-motion video clips, and       |
  57.         |     information on over 5,000 species.                               |
  58.         |                                                                      |
  59.         |   - Genesis                                                          |
  60.         |     Genesis is a multimedia authoring package developed by Oak       |
  61.         |     Solutions. The "GENESIS" directory contains two example Genesis  |
  62.         |     applications, which show the addition of Acorn Replay support    |
  63.         |     to the !Genesis package.                                         |
  64.         |                                                                      |
  65.         |   - KeyAuthor                                                        |
  66.         |     KeyAuthor is a multimedia authoring package which has Acorn      |
  67.         |     Replay support built into it, developed by 3T Productions on     |
  68.         |     behalf of Anglia TV.                                             |
  69.         |                                                                      |
  70.         |   - Magpie                                                           |
  71.         |     Magpie is a multimedia authoring package developed by Longman    |
  72.         |     Logotron, which allows the user to put words, pictures, sounds   |
  73.         |     and video clips together on the same page.  Pages are put        |
  74.         |     together to form "Binders".                                      |
  75.         |                                                                      |
  76.         |   - !ARPlayer                                                        |
  77.         |     !ARPlayer (located in the REPLAY directory) allows Acorn Replay  |
  78.         |     movies to be played on the desktop, and is started by double-    |
  79.         |     clicking on its icon in a filer display.  It installs itself     |
  80.         |     on the iconbar.                                                  |
  81.         |                                                                      |
  82.         |   - !MultiSound                                                      |
  83.         |     !MultSound (located in the REPLAY directory) is an application   |
  84.         |     which plays only the audio component of Acorn Replay movies.     |
  85.         |     It is a multitasking application, so other desktop activities    |
  86.         |     can continue whilst the sound is playing.  It is started by      |
  87.         |     double-clicking on its icon in a filer display.  It installs     |
  88.         |     itself on the iconbar.                                           |
  89.         |                                                                      |
  90.         |   - !ARMovie                                                         |
  91.         |     The !ARMovie directory contains the resources used by Acorn      |
  92.         |     Replay. It is similar to a !System directory.                    |
  93.         |                                                                      |
  94.         |   - MOVIES                                                           |
  95.         |     The MOVIES directory contains a number of movies created         |
  96.         |     courtesy of Anglia TV.  Files whose names end with a "2" play    |
  97.         |     at 12 frames per second, and are suitable to be played on any    |
  98.         |     ARM processor.  Files whose names do not end with a "2" play at  |
  99.         |     25 frames per second, and require an ARM3 processor and at       |
  100.         |     least 1.5Mb of available RAM to play back smoothly.              |
  101.         |                                                                      |
  102.         |   - SOUNDS                                                           |
  103.         |     The SOUNDS directory contains audio material to be played using  |
  104.         |     the !MULTSOUND application.  They are Acorn Replay movies which  |
  105.         |     have only an audio component.  They can be played by dragging    |
  106.         |     their file icon to the !MULTSOUND window (or to its icon on      |
  107.         |     the iconbar). It includes a selection of classical music, and    |
  108.         |     a set of introductory talks about RISC OS 3, produced by         |
  109.         |     Headline Communications Ltd.                                     |
