This is the documentation for the TNG Monitors font.  This font is inspired by the tall, thin font used on the monitors for U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D on Star Trek: the Next Generation.  Many of the characters were made using a bitmap font a friend gave me as a template.  I cleaned those up  and added quite a few other characters.  It now contains almost a full character set.  This is an "all caps" font.  All characters typed using "dead" keys (where you type option+`/i/u/n/e and then the character you want the accent to be placed over) are included.

  5. This Font is avaliable as both a PostScript Type 1 font and as a TrueType font.  The PostScript version includes three files inside a Stuffit Archive:
  6.                     - TNG Monitors (PS) : contains the 9,12,14,18,24,48, and 72 pt screen fonts
  7.                     - TNGMonPla : the system extension (under System 7.0 or later) with the
  8.                             Postscript information
  9.                     - TNG Monitors.doc : this documentation file
  10. The TrueType version contains these files in its Stuffit Archive:

This font was created by hand drawing all characters in Adobe Illustrator 3.01 and then uploaded into FontMonger.  I edited the screen (bitmap) fonts FontMonger created in ResEdit 2.1.  I have tried this font with Microsoft Word 4.0 and it seems to work fine.  (I mentioned this because the FontMonger manual says that sometimes TrueType fonts do not print quite right using MS Word 4.0.)

P.S.  -  I know that the ¢ symbol has part of it filled in.  It was a problem I am trying to work out with FontMonger.  The character look fine in Illustrator, but something was lost in the translation by FontMonger.  I am working on it.  I will upload an upgraded version as soon as possible.  Please tell me of any other problems you have with the font.  Your input is greatly appreciated.
