  34. New Features in version 1.1
  35. ---------------------------

  37.      Several things have been added/changed in Navstar with the release
  38. of version 1.1. The principle changes include:
  39.  
  40.    'E'dit attribute: moved to Control A
  41.  
  42.    TAB Key: no longer marks; now responds exactly as CtrlS, invoking the
  43.             Text Search function
  44.  
  45.    'I'nfo: moved to the 'K'eys & extensions key
  46.  
  47.    'T'ime & 'F'ree space: now incorporated into 'I'nformation key
  48.  
  49.    Jumpdir function: This is the principal addition to the package. By
  50. hitting the 'J' key, Navstar prompts for a text string. It then scans
  51. its internal directory entry list for matches, and does one of two
  52. things. If there is but one match, it changes to that directory. If
  53. there are multiple matches, the user is allowed to choose from the list
  54. of matches. This is a super-useful function; see the history file and
  55. manual for details.

  57.    Control-J: This updates the jump information table; it does so by
  58. invoking 'CCD' with the -r option.
  59.  
  60.    'I'nformation key: This key displays the current time, date, max # of
  61. files, directories, and other useful info.
  62.  
  63.    Insert key: now toggles marking mode. When this mode is active, every
  64. entry over which the cursor passes is marked.
  65.  
  66.    Inclusion of the CCD program. This program is a command-line version
  67. of the Jumpdir function. It also provides some useful configuration
  68. information, and manages the on-disk list of directory entries.

  70.    Addition of the NVSHELL shell. This allows Navstar to consume only 7k
  71. when running other programs, with the loss of a small bit of speed, as
  72. Navstar becomes more disk intensive.

  74.    Several people have noted that Navstar is the ideal shell
  75. for use on portables; its small size is a big plus. Additionally,
  76. with its key definitions, it allows the user to set up an easy to
  77. use menu-like system.
