  6.                This section tells you is how to become a registered
  7.           user once you decide that you like the program and want to
  8.           use it on a regular basis.

  10.                Navstar is distributed under the shareware marketing
  11.           concept; it is not free software and it has not been released
  12.           to the public domain. The documentation, executable images,
  13.           and all other files distributed with Navstar are copyrighted.

  15.                Shareware is a way of distributing computer software
  16.           that allows you to try out a program before you purchase it.
  17.           Programs distributed as shareware typically give you some
  18.           period of time to use the program and evaluate its usefulness
  19.           to you. If the program doesn't meet your needs, you're under
  20.           no obligation to pay for it. If you do find the program
  21.           useful and wish to continue using it on a regular basis, the
  22.           shareware program's author usually requests that you pay for
  23.           the program by sending him or her a completed registration
  24.           form and payment. This is the approach I have taken in making
  25.           Navstar available to the public.

  27.                If you find Navstar to be a useful addition to your
  28.           software library, you're requested to become a registered
  29.           user by completing the enclosed registration form and
  30.           returning it along with the indicated license/registration
  31.           fee. I hope that you will agree that the $30.00 license fee
  32.           is a small price to pay for the continued use of the program.
  33.           It requires a large investment to develop, market, and
  34.           support a product of this complexity. Your support in the
  35.           form of a license/registration fee will continue to make good
  36.           software available at low prices.
  37.  
  38.                Quantity discounts are available to business,
  39.           government, and other organizations that wish to use Navstar
  40.           on multiple computer systems. Navstar is also available at
  41.           very special rates to organizations who wish to use it in
  42.           promotional campaigns. Write the author for information on
  43.           using the program this way.

  45.                You are granted a limited license to use and examine
  46.           Navstar on a trial basis to determine if Navstar is suitable
  47.           for your needs. If you find Navstar useful and continue to
  48.           use it on a regular basis, you should complete and return the
  49.           registration form along with the indicated
  50.           license/registration fee.

  64.                You are encouraged to make copies of Navstar for the
  65.           trial use of other individuals and organizations, subject to
  66.           the following restrictions:

  68.                1) All Navstar distribution files must be copied in
  69.                unmodified form, including the documentation, help, and
  70.                executable image files.
  71.                2) You may not include any other files with the
  72.                distributed copy.
  73.                3) You may not request compensation of any sort for
  74.                providing the copy. This restriction does not apply to
  75.                computer clubs and user groups who distribute software
  76.                to their members for a nominal fee.

  78.                You may not distribute Navstar with any other product or
  79.           service without written permission of the copyright holder.

  81.                Navstar may be included on electronic bulletin board
  82.           systems for downloading by users of the bulletin board
  83.           provided the above restrictions are met.

  85.                Navstar and all accompanying materials are provided "as
  86.           is" without warranty of any kind. The entire risk of using
  87.           Navstar is assumed by you.

  89.                The author, Christopher R. S. Schanck, makes no warranty
  90.           of any kind, expressed or implied, including but not limited
  91.           to any warranties of merchantability and fitness for a
  92.           particular purpose.

  94.                In no event will the author, Christopher R. S. Schanck,
  95.           be liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of your use
  96.           or inability to use the program.

  98.                If you use Navstar on a regular basis, you should
  99.           complete the registration form at the end of this document
  100.           and return it along with the indicated license/registration
  101.           fee. Registration gives you the right to use the software as
  102.           documented in the license.

  104.                The registration fee of $30.00 establishes you as a
  105.           registered user of Navstar. You will not receive any software
  106.           directly from the author, but you will, from time to time,
  107.           receive notification when updated versions of Navstar are
  108.           released.
