  11. EDDY (for EDit DirectorY) provides the following services:
  12.  
  13.    ■ EDIT directory entries, including name, date, time and attributes of files
  14.    ■ COPY, MOVE, DELETE and/or DESTROY files
  15.    ■ LOOK at or PATCH data in files
  16.  
  17. EDDY is offered as a tool which is felt to be easier and more convenient to use
  18. than other programs which provide similar capabilities. EDDY is also cheaper.

  20. EDDY has extensive HELP facilities, which may be called on at any time by press-
  21. ing <F1>. HELP includes all of the basic information needed to use EDDY.

  23. The simplest way to get familiar with EDDY is to just type "EDDY" and <Enter>.

  25. There is no danger of damage to your disk data, because no changes will be made
  26. to any of your directories or files unless you explicitly tell EDDY to do so.

  28. Complete documentation for EDDY is available in the file EDDY.DOC, which can be
  29. printed with the DOS PRINT command on most dot matrix printers. It contains some
  30. compressed characters, some expanded ones, some double-strike lines and some
  31. underlined ones. On some printers, bi-directional printing must be turned off.
  32. EDDY.DOC can also be read with EDDY's own LOOK command.

  34. EDDY is distributed as "user supported" software, without charge. EDDY and the
  35. User's Manual may be copied ad lib provided the author's copyright notice and
  36. disclaimers of warranty are reproduced in full.

  38. The program is supplied as-is. The author disclaims all warranties, expressed
  39. or implied, including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability
  40. and the warranties of fitness for any purpose. Copies of the program may not
  41. be sold for more than the cost of the medium they are copied on, plus reason-
  42. able handling charges. The total charge may not exceed $10.

  44. Although EDDY is distributed in this way, it is not free. After a reasonable
  45. trial period, if you find EDDY to be useful and satisfactory to you, and you
  46. continue to use EDDY, then a usage and registration fee of $15.00 is due. It

  55. If EDDY's display is blurred or unreadable, try running EDDY with option /M
  56. (i.e., "EDDY/M"). If the display is now OK, follow the steps given in Section
  57. 14.2 of EDDY.DOC to modify EDDY to work better with your monitor.
