  3. WINEZ 3.1 PRODUCT RELEASE NOTES
  4. -------------------------------

  6. Some of the following information did not make it into the User's
  7. Guide, or is considered important information for the user to know.
  8.  
  9. * WinEZ's icons are now larger in Super VGA mode
  10.  
  11. * WinEZ 3.1 now supports up to 30 Groups (previously 24)
  12.  
  13. * WinEZ 3.1 is fully compatible with Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1,
  14.   Norton Desktop 1.0, and Norton Desktop 2.0.
  15.  
  16. * Start new applications, switch to, and now... "End" applications
  17.   all from the WinEZ pull down menus.  The Task List icon now
  18.   contains the feature to end other active applications.
  19.  
  20. * Use the right mouse buttom with the "Fast Path" icon to switch you
  21.   directly to the Program Manager (or Norton Desktop).
  22.  
  23. * To get the WinEZ "Power Menu" to stay up without having to hold
  24.   the left mouse button down, drag the cursor to the first
  25.   application group on the list.  The Power Menu will stay up and
  26.   you may then pick and chose application groups.
  27.  
  28. * For Norton support, the Norton Desktop shell must be installed
  29.   on Windows invocation.  This is accomplished in the SYSTEM.INI
  30.   file on the "shell=" line (i.e. shell=C:\NORTON\NDW.EXE).

  32. * Norton group file names must end in the .QAG extension (this is
  33.   the Norton default extension).
  34.  
  35. * Under the Norton Desktop, WinEZ should not be automatically started
  36.   as part of the "Start Up" group.  Instead load WinEZ via "load ="
  37.   statement found in the file WIN.INI.  WinEZ's installation program
  38.   will automatically do this for you.

  40. * Users of Lotus Notes: In order to make WinEZ full compatible with
  41.   Lotus Notes we avoid attaching to their menus (all Lotus Notes
  42.   users should verify they are running WinEZ 3.1).
  43.  
  44. * If for some reason you are having problems executing version
  45.   3.0, delete the files WINEZ.DAT and WINEZ.INI from your Windows
  46.   subdirectory, then restart WinEZ.
  47.
