  1. Type Mate

  4. This is a program (or two actually) to set the delay before the typematic
  5. starts. As you no doubt have noticed this is not possible to set with the
  6. keyboard utility included with Windows. In DOS I have been using the shortest
  7. delay possible (250 ms) for some years now and I always got irritated with
  8. Windows slow typematic response.
  9.  
  10. TypeMate.exe should be installed in a Program Manager-group somewhere (perhaps
  11. in a utils-group). This is the program that lets you change the delay in steps
  12. of 250 ms (there are only those four delays available). You can choose whether
  13. you just want to use the new delay this session or save the settings in your
  14. Win.Ini-file (and use it now).

  16. If you want to use the "save" option in TypeMate you must also use
  17. SetSpeed.exe. This program should be placed in you \windows directory and you
  18. should add a line in you Win.Ini-file that says:

  20. load=SetSpeed.exe
  21.  
  22. This will make sure that the saved delay will be used automatically whenever
  23. you start Windows.

  25. PLEASE NOTE! TypeMate only works for AT and PS/2-machines! Do not try it on
  26. anything else!
