  3. INSTALLING KIDWARE
  4. ***********************************************

  6. 1. Put the kidware diskette in drive A or B. From DOS type INSTALL 
  7. and press ENTER. Or, from Windows, use the File Manager to double 
  8. click on INSTALL.BAT in either A or B drive.
  9.  
  10. The Install program creates a directory called KIDWARE on your C drive.

  14. 2. To set up an icon in Windows for any of these games:
  15.  
  16. From Program Manager, click on the File Menu. 
  17.  
  18. Click on New from the drop down menu. 
  19.  
  20. If you want to open a special window, click on New Group 
  21. and call it KIDWARE. Then reselect New.. from the File menu to add 
  22. the various programs.
  23.  
  24. Select New Program from the dialog box.
  25.  
  26. For Deal a Fortune, type DEAL A FORTUNE in the Description 
  27. box and C:\KIDWARE\DEAL.EXE in the box below.
  28.  
  29. For Wordwiz, type WORDWIZ for the description and  C:\KIDWARE\WORDWIZ.EXE 
  30. in the box below.

  32. To install NUMERO, type NUMERO in the description field and
  33. C:\KIDWARE\NUMERO.EXE in the command line field.

  35. IF YOU ARE WISHING TO ADD WORDS TO DEAL A FORTUNE, you will also need to
  36. add a file called ADD-FORT.EXE to your Kidware window.

  40. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  43. Kidware programs require special hardware and software conditions. 
  44. You need the following to run Kidware
  45.  
  46. -- IBM type computer or clone using 286 processor chip or higher
  47.  
  48. -- hard disk
  49.  
  50. -- CGA, EGA, VGA or Hercules video
  51.  
  52. -- a mouse
  53.  
  54. -- Microsoft Windows 3.0 or higher running in STANDARD or ENHANCED 
  55. mode
  56.  
  57. -- 1 megabyte memory
  58.  
  59. Additionally, you need a file called VBRUN100.DLL. This is not supplied 
  60. with the shareware release of KIDWARE. Quite freqently, it is downloadable 
  61. from Bulletin board systems or may be purchased separately from disk clubs.

  63. This file must be copy to a directory in your system path. Usually, it is in
  64. the WINDOWS directory, which is almost always in the DOS path.
