- First off, I would like to know if anyone is using the winsock stuff with
- Banyan Vines.
-
- Second, how do you do it? I was told that the ip address is set dynamically.
- So I assume that it may be different each time someone logs on. Is that what
- this bootp stuff is all about?
-
- I have never messed with Banyan Vines, but I am looking into it, so I would
- love to hear from someone using Banyan networks.
-
- Thanks

- We've had really good luck with FTP's product. We use PPP for INET/Informix
- connectivity and have also run eudora across it (in fact I'm doing it right

-
- You should get the WSARCHIE alfa version 0.2 from ftp.sunet.se in /pub/pc/windows/wsarchie
- and WS_FTP version 94.03.25 from ftp.usma.edu in /pub/msdos.
-
- If you put WSArchie and WS_FTP in e.g c:\internet\programs and wants FTP'ed programs in
- e.g c:\internet\incoming, the following should apply:
-
- Program Item Progerties:
- Description: WSArchie WS_FTP
- Command line: c:\internet\programs\wsarchie.exe c:\internet\programs\ws_ftp.exe
- Working dir.: c:\internet\incoming c:\internet\incoming
-
- In WSARCHIE.INI:
- [FTP]
- Command=c:\internet\programs\ws_ftp %h:%d/%f
- FtpUserName=anonymous
- FtpPassword=unknown@
- FtpDirectory=c:\internet\incoming
-
-
- This works just fine for me!

- Mark (et al),
-
- Have you tried the v4004.exe yet?
-
- I got it from ftp.uu.net, cd vendor/NetManage, bin, get v4004.exe.
-
- I didn't notice whether there's a new winsock.dll -- but I have
- been seeing crashes with WINSOCK.DLL with the v4004 installed.
-
- So -- maybe not...

- Our NT servers were supposed to have arrived months ago; we have a Visual C++
- CD already, for them. Once they are set up I'm hoping to find out why
- WSGopher doesn't work with NT.
-
- WS_PING I can understand, since you can't do ICMP within the WinSock spec.
